"Be still and know" by Mountain Rose

Be Still and Know by Mountain Rose

Isaiah 26:3“You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.”

I don’t know about you, but there are times my mind is very full. All of the things on my to do list. The latest news reports on what those rascally people in congress are up to. The demands of work, and running a household. And, what’s for dinner tonight?? There is lots of “noise” in our lives. It may be media, traffic, crying babies, barking dogs, the teenager who lives across the road blaring music loudly from his car speakers, the television in the next room. All these things are demanding our attention, and are enough to drive a person to distraction.

So this begs a question. How do we deal with all of these things? Some of these things are important and need our attention. But there are some we may need to limit, or let go.

How do we keep our minds stayed on God, as the verse above says? Do we know God? How do we know God? How do we know our family and friends? It’s called time, folks. Do we spend time with God daily? Do we read the Bible? Do we pray? That’s how we come to know God. We have to take the time out of our busy-ness, and step aside from the “noise” to spend time with Him.

Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God…”

Isaiah 30:15 “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.”

Thanks for reading....be blessed, Mountain Rose,

Blessings,
