Patriot Express Newsletter Edition #204

Greetings and welcome to the Patriot Express Newsletter Edition #204. Thanks for your time to support Hope for Survival and read the weekly PENL. We are now into March and more crazy weather is around us. Are you paying attention to the natural events occurring around the world and maybe in your area? Remember, a natural disaster can ruin your day and life while you wait on the manmade events happening all over the globe. I read a report this week saying scientist in the East Palestine, OH area is reporting the area to be a complete disaster area with the air, water, and soil heavily impacted from toxins remaining in the area. A snap of the finger and life changed for these citizens. This could be me, you, family, and friends at any given moment. Preparedness is about all hazards. Remember this as you prepare.

We are quickly approaching the time to start germinating seeds, starting your plants, and getting your garden ready to smile and show happiness with lots of vegetables and goodies for you to can, dehydrate, or freeze dry.

Crazy week but also filled with blessings and good people. No matter how crazy the world around us seems, how can we complain about anything if we have a roof over our head, food and water, and we are safe and without family or health issues? Think about it. Behind the scenes in HFS we have caring and loving Patriots facing all kinds of issues from health to family, to finances, and more. These are humans just like us. They have names and they are real. Not just an email address or name. They are real. I mention this because I often wonder about your neighbor. Do you know your neighbor? You may wave and speak to them, but do you know them? Have you tried to know them? Now is the time to make the effort.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, to those who donated to the 2023 donation drive already. Bless you and thank you so much. You are the fuel to keep the HFS mission rolling forward another year.

What am I talking about?

HFS is conducting our annual fund drive March 1-31, 2023. We call this our HFS March Madness Drive which keeps us funded operationally for the coming year. First let me say a big thank you to those who funded us for this year and the past years. We are grateful for your kindness and generous support. Your donations and support strictly fund our operational efforts for software, licensing fees, editing and recording software and license, print capabilities and needs, and fees for platform cost annually.

You probably visit numerous websites daily and notice how they run adds for external products and advertise sponsors. You will find none of this at Hope for Survival and we have declined opportunities to do so. Keeping Hope for Survival sponsor free allows us to control the information posted and to focus on what is important. Getting you prepared. Please consider making a onetime donation, or a monthly donation throughout the year, or you can contact me for information to make a donation through a check. Your donation keeps us running week to week. Thanks for your consideration and support.

HFS is approaching our 4th Anniversary and to date, we work for free. No pay. Our time is donated, and any proceeds earned is recycled back to pay for future travel to your communities to help others get prepared. All proceeds from Hope for Survival book sales are donated to help purchase food for others in need.

Please help us get through another year and consider a donation.

Ding, Ding, Ding....Attention HFS readers..... Opinions shared in this newsletter are just that, opinions, and nothing more. Read at your own risk. The owner and author of this site is not responsible for hurt feelings or thin-skinned readers. I do my best to show restraint and respect to the best extent possible. I take as many precautions as possible and try to remain as nonpolitical as possible, however, there are times when I just can't help but point certain things out. Occasionally I use words only Patriots recognize and understand. It's not personal against any non-Patriot. It's just the truth. Sometimes we must pull up our spenders and suck it up. Just saying. Stay the course, read what you want, and avoid the rest. Avoid fear porn as much as possible and the day will be okay. When all else fails… Keep the faith and always have Hope.

Let’s move along and get to some thoughts...

Thoughts for the week

Wilson's Corner

It is easy to smile when you have squirrel intellect

- Why is the media and US Government pushing the Wuhan Lab leak theory now after refusing it as a possibility for over 2 years?

- It is factual, several politicians (both parties) padded their accounts through Ukraine since roughly 2014. Knowing some 40 plus bio labs exist(ed) in Ukraine, is it possible the bat bug virus started in Ukraine? Is someone in Ukraine blackmailing someone in the US of A threatening to spill the beans on the truth?

- Why are humans more likely to believe a stranger posing a crazy theory over trusting their own gut and moral beliefs?

Fears, Concerns, Truths, Threats, Possibilities, and Realities - My undergraduate degree is in Psychology, and I have spent most of my adult life in different areas of protecting things that all included understanding people. How will people react to certain situations and circumstances? What makes people tick? From day one 12 years ago and the past four years under Hope for Survival, I have taught people to focus on their psychological, spiritual, and physical well-being first and foremost. Understanding oneself is critical. Understanding self is then expanded to understanding others. Book II in the Hope for Survival process was called "The Mindset" and learning to think outside the box and left of bang. I promise I didn't write this book for my own ego or because I didn't have anything else to do. It is part of the preparedness process to survive what is likely ahead and possibly sooner than later. This information is available to everyone and some reads and goes forth while others plop back on the sofa and stress because their Twinkie box is empty. It's a personal choice, period. Sadly, these sofa dwellers are going to die very soon in coming collapse. I have watched sects of society dying of starvation. The reason doesn't matter for this discussion. Starvation is the concern and topic. For a nation that I love and all the great ladies and men wearing red, white, and blue, starvation is my single greatest concern and fear for our people. Starvation in general or when used as a weapon by rogue leadership is equally brutal. Every day is a battleground for survival. We are going to have to be psychologically prepared and smart enough to recognize it, or else the story is short and no one to tell it.

What is real? What is the truth? What should be our biggest concern? Who is telling the truth? Will those we have trusted for so long let us down? I often get asked, "what do I think will happen?" My thoughts, concerns, planning, and focus is mostly based on history, risk assessment, identifying threats, and then racking and stacking how the results will impact me the most and are most likely. This is a process that requires hours and hours of reading, studying, past history of the person, political party in control, global nations reactions to events involving our nation and knowing how to identify quality information and then ruling out fear porn and those wishing to jump on the fear wagon to get clicks and make money off of making you afraid. What is real. With each passing day it becomes harder to collect, process analysis, and decipher the truth.

I have commented in the past on different HFS platforms that starvation is a great concern I have. Yawn. My belly is full, and my closet has 12 cans of soup. I'm good. Actually, no you are not. This is bigger and goes way beyond a tornado or ice storm. I'm talking a long-term food crisis or else permanent collapse of the food system. Food being used as a weapon against the world populace, either covertly or overtly. Wait!!! I know you are thinking "why on earth would a government or global plan use food as a weapon against the people. We can debate and argue the facts and all of that, but it is a fact the world stage has the largest superpowers (US, Russia, and China) along with the smaller nations with less ability to grow food and feed their own populace, jockeying for available food on the global markets. The major growing nations around the world are growing less food and natural disasters around the world are impacting food growth to make matters worse. Also consider, we depend on a supply system that is nations away for America and ships, planes, and trucks, must bring food to our local grocery. This is already a problem. Now, add the EMP, CME, and solar flare threat which would take out these transportation systems and the technology to coordinate and move products.

Educate yourself and read what those of us who are reading sees being posted. This is straight up concerns without the conspiratorial side of things. Many preparers believe this is all part of the plan and it could be. That is not the debate here or the point of where I am going with this. When food is not available and the trucks stop running for any reason, supply chains break down and your stores are empty. This could be a manmade or natural cause. Does it matter when you are out of food and your children are losing weight and underfed? The number of those needing food is multiplying faster than the food can be grown, produced, packed, and shipped to nations around the world. This is not breaking down the nations already in a food crisis or governments keeping the food for the elite while their people suffer.

Here is a factoid I came across while pulling down information on this topic.

"The scale of the current global hunger and malnutrition crisis is enormous, with an expected 345.2 million people projected to be food insecure – more than double the number in 2020. An expected 345.2 million people projected to be food insecure in 2023 – more than double the number in 2020.:

Check out these articles:

You may have all the financial resources needed but when the food is not available, you either produce and grow it yourself, pull it from your preparedness stock for long term survival, or you starve. How many citizens who are preparing and putting food back really understand the vastness of this problem and the ramifications to a starving nation? How many American citizens who are aware and try to properly plan for self-reliance hold out a thought in the back of their mind that at some point the government will step in and come to the rescue?

Above you had access to different organizations discussing the food crisis globally. Now, I want you to consider the impact of an EMP, Solar Flares, or Coronal Mass Ejection on your grid system which would all but nail down the articles about much quicker. Just as our leaders over many years failed to address the growing food crisis, they have also failed to address protecting our national grid. Instead, it is easier to find articles on the worlds rich elite wanting to depopulate the world of millions of people. Heck, even nutritionist discuss how healthy eaters should not shop or buy any products except on the outer walls of a grocery store. Vegetables, dairy, meats and fruit. Stay away from the processed foods in boxes and all that goes with it. How many citizens can live week to week off what they buy on the other walls? They can't afford to do so.

When the EMP, CME, or Solar Flare strikes, our nation will likely be set back 100 or more years. If you don't know what this means just watch a series of Little House on the Prairie. I'm not trying to scare you. I'm trying to get you to understand the reality of issues pushing us up against the wall.

I want you to consider these facts:

- The federal government does not have a plan to feed the nation's population during a short-term or longer food crisis. Get that? This means about 9-% to 95% of 240 million people will be competing for the same food as the unprepared initially. When those who prepared runs out of food, guess what?

- The US military does not have a plan to feed the military during a short term or longer, food crisis. This means active-duty troops and their families. How long do you think these troops will stay inside the fence line as starvation begins? When they go to the perimeter fence looking out to their community and see starving people, how many will climb the fence and join the battle of fighting for the last crumbs of food available?

Long term sustainability is key for survival and community teaming is critical as long as the community can work together to grow and produce enough food to survive but also protect what they have from the masses coming towards them. This is another topic for a different day but important. Understanding starvation is key to this discussion. Saying you know what a hungry person is like is one thing. Saying you have experienced a starving society or nation is another. Humans will turn in to scavengers and act like animals or worse. Americans never faced this before. Even during the great depression and stories of starving families, they didn't face animalistic humans searching and fighting for food.

The psychological breakdown of the human is vicious and turns humans into unrecognizable beings that act and respond in ways others will not understand or be capable of reacting or defending day to day. If you don't believe it, check out some past human exercises in these areas:

It would be easy to post a dozen more articles on this topic. My point is you need to understand and have the ability to recognize these traits in humans and have a plan as much as possible. Now add a WROL or without rule of law scenario to further reduce any form of control or enforcement of the law. You will likely endure a loss of utilities and sanitation. You are on your own now and you must have the psychological and physical ability to survive A 24 X 7 threat looming in the dark and near you.

Starvation can become a major threat driven by numerous causes or creations out of your control. You need to be mentally alert and smart enough to see it coming and be ready to endure the unknowns and unexpected responses from humans around you.

Next....

Gardening, knowledge, mental and physical fitness, and success. When you have worked your garden for several hours, do you feel tired? Kind of like you worked out? Surprised? Yea, we take the process for granted until we go out and do it and then feel exhausted. Here is an interesting chart on the actual regions of the body one uses to work outside and in their garden.

It's your first time? Have you ever grown mold in your fridge? Yes? Then you have grown something before. The rest is easy. Okay, not so easy but it is fruitful and rewarding to your family and preparedness food planning. If it is your first-time growing vegetables and fruit, here's a chart showing some items to consider for your first time.

In food preparations and focusing on the nutritional value of what we need and how it should include nutritional values for our family members, consider the charts below.

Let's talk planning our garden and information regarding which plants works and grows best with others. You know, sort of like preparers who hang out together and then don't respond well when put with non-preparers. Plants also grow and produce better when near friendly plants. Here is a recommendation chart.

Once we figure out what works best with other plants, we have to figure out a spacing and how much we need to plant. Do you typically plan for your needs? How much do you need to add to your diet during garden season and how much do you plan to can, dehydrate, or freeze dry? What is your plan?

How do we know what to plant when and for the region a person is living in? It is an important factor and should be part of the gardening plan.

Tomatoes - Great when they are growing up to par, a pain when drooping, splitting, falling off, wilting, changing colors, and more. How do you know what to do when the tomato talks to you through plant appearance? Last year a couple of our tomato plants dried up and appeared to be dying. We weren't sure if the mushroom compost was possibly to hot for the tomato roots. We added some coffee grounds and crushed eggshells around the plant base and then added about a quart of old milk about 6 inches out from the plant base and circular. About a week later the plant smiled and produced the remainder of the season.

I often hear new gardeners ask the question, once picked or harvested how long will plant x last? Here's some suggestions to consider.

Potato Boxes - I've heard pos and cons of building and growing potatoes in other than typical row gardening. Boxes, trash cans, buckets and so forth are other ways to consider. Here's an example of potato boxes.

Or you can try the potato pots by cutting out the sides to the inner pot and then dropping it inside the enclosed pot. This is fairly self-explanatory from the picture.

Peas - I love peas, how about you? I remember my Patriot friends in north Georgia telling me stories last year about shelling all their peas grown in their garden. Aside from being proud of them for all their work and effort with their preparedness efforts and gardening, talking with them and hearing their stories of hard work and shelling peas was tiring. Another homesteading Patriot family recently sent me the below link on a pea shelling machine. The family added a motor to their sheller. See below and check it out if you grow lots of peas.

I hope these charts of information on gardening has helped you out in some fashion. Gardening is exciting and yet challenging at the same time. Personally, I enjoy gardening and the peacefulness it brings when working with the plants and separation from the world.

With so many methods to garden it should not create an excuse if you live in an apartment, suburbia, or rural environment. How bad to you want to grow fresh vegetables? That is the hurdle many can't get past. Give it a shot and good luck.
