Greetings and welcome to the Patriot Express Newsletter Edition #262. We are happy to have you with us this week and hope your HFS journey is positive. Grab a bagel or some biscuits and gravy and relax as you journey through this week's edition. Watch out for the potholes and bumpy roads along the journey. No guarantees it will be smooth. Know what I'm saying? I can tell you we have less bumps than the Chicago immigrant camps which reported 53 cases of measles in a weekend period. That is one case more than all the US of A in 2023.
We are living through a nana nana boo-boo time as the world watches and waits to see who is going to throw the first punch and then who follows through on their support to the other. I'm talking about the middle east to begin with. Who will blink and who will flex. Meanwhile in America we see five, E-6 military airframes in the sky....at the same time. These are our flying communication vessels talking to our nuclear triad. The question is five at the same time. All US coastal areas are covered. Hmmmm Are we expecting company?
Folks, I'm not even going to tell you time is about up and soon it will be best person for their own self and family. You are not going to know the truth from lies and while you are thinking you can run to the corner store for food needs, it is being raided by hungry homeless from your community. Peace is a wish and a community coming together is desired for survival. Just remember, when it tanks and everyone seems crazy around you, you don't have to be an animal to defend against and kill the animal.

VPNs -
Several HFS personnel asked about VPNs and what is the best. I reached out to a couple of our smarter technology types for this question. Understanding what a VPN is a good starting point. One of our Patriot brothers in NC sent me the below description to answer the question. What is a VPN. Thanks, Kiro for your timely response.

I wanted to reach out about VPNs after the discussion on Zoom. It became a whole topic and didn't know if you had all of your questions answered.
Most sales commercials make it out to be more than it really is. It is important but unless they are selling an auxiliary identity protection service, it is only doing one thing, masking your traffic. They will say things like: "there was a hack, and all these accounts were stolen, that's why I use [Insert product]". They are not actually claiming it protects against that, just making you think it may.
That said, most traffic now a days is encrypted. You type in your bank, your computer reaches out to the bank, and you come to an agreement on what security you will use, and then you speak 'in code' from then on.
Your ISP sees (it's called the handshake):
"Hi Bank, I would like to talk"
"Sure thing, people can listen, so let's use a made-up language only we can understand, how about we scramble it like @*$dl#h@qq!"
"No sorry, I don't know that one, how about (#ekx@d6ßĵ#" > > >
"Ok, I know that one, down to business #w(#)@sk$el!?sw" "×&$>×28$zsjf$&÷>×;%_" (and so on from there)
Notice that your ISP saw that you reached out to your bank. This handshake takes place for each site you visit. The ISP sees everything you reach out to. When using a VPN, here is what your ISP sees:
"Hi VPN, I want to connect."
"Ok, there are people watching so let's talk like $<÷63<#ajd&$<sh47$&" "$<ushd#&=hdhr"
Then you reach out to your bank, video site, email and your ISP only sees you talking to the VPN. This is why you look for a "No log VPN". You need to make sure they are not logging where you are going in case you get accused of wrong think. Then when they track the traffic back to the VPN, they can just shrug and go, sorry, can't recall who you are talking about.
Keep in mind that there is still a handshake between you and the sites you visit, but instead of you walking up face to face to your bank, you are asking a partner to ask the bank if they want to talk like '$&3<÷hdh3u&÷&-73<'
There is a trade off in speed. Most modern bandwidths will handle the overhead with no issues. Low end DSL or slow satalite connections may notice this hit. You have to scramble your message in a bank readable code, then scramble that code in a VPN readable code
I hope this helps. I tried to make it non-technical. If you have any questions, let me know. I use Virtual Shield. I'm 95% happy with them. They also support patriot podcasts. When they finish their Linux client, they will get better marks in my opinion.
