From Guest Writer Gunsmoke
I wasn’t planning to write another paper this soon, but I had a scary experience today at Academy Sports. I am a gunsmith and sometimes I have to run to Academy Sports for a set of scope rings, ammo, or cleaning equipment. While there I got into a discussion with the firearms clerk. He showed me something that I think could cause even more grief for our 2A rights. He handed me what looked and operated exactly like a suppressed M4. At first glance, this is a fully automatic M4. Picture this: A child in his back yard is having target practice and you, (as a law abiding citizen) see this child firing a fully auto M4. Your first thought is where did this kid get a full auto gun in the first place? The next thing is the safety for yourself, family and neighbors. You call the police to report this and they show up with guns drawn thinking the same as you did. This situation could end up in a fatal injury for the child. Another scenario to think about is someone that could not pass a background check could purchase one of these and use it to rob a store, bank or private person…you get the point.
It is my belief that the Crosman Company should recall every one of these air rifles and equip each one of them with something that identifies these guns as a BB gun. The Airsoft people put an orange tip on the ends of the barrels so they can be identified as a toy. A little forethought would evert a tragedy later.

Dive into full-auto tactical action with the Crosman DPMS SBR!
This officially licensed and stamped DPMS SBR (Short Barrel Rifle) spits out blistering semi and full-auto repeating BB shots, fueled by two 12-gram CO2 cartridges housed in the 25rd magazine. A short barrel version of the modern warfighter rifle, the DPMS SBR transfers everything shooters love about the M4 to the air gun platform.
Adjust your SBR to your preference with a 6-point adjustable rear stock and get a steady support from the moveable hand rest on the forfend. The SBR's quad-Weaver/Picatinny rails give you endless opportunities for mounting laser sights, flashlights, and pistol grips. Each package includes removable pop-up sights for a rifle ready to shoot out of the box, and the rear sight is adjustable. The fire-mode selector lets you choose between semi or fully-automatic shots sent flying at 430 fps.
