Being that I work in Emergency Management building Emergency Plans for thousands of employees, I listen and read to anything and everything available that can improve my abilities. Training equals better preparedness. Having an undergraduate degree in Psychology, I understand the importance of how the brain works, especially during disasters. I have written extensively on the importance of understanding yourself, your brain, and how YOU would react to disasters and traumatic type events.
In my book, Hope For Survival, I reference a great book, "The Unthinkable" by an excellent author, Amanda Ripley. Ms. Ripley has conducted in depth studies and analysis of the brain and human actions during disasters and post-disasters. Check it out.
