Is Jesus King?
Have you ever found yourself down in the dumps? I know it is common for some to struggle this time of year, when the Winter seems long, and we haven’t had much sunlight (or ‘Son Light’). As a result of that, have you ever found yourself questioning God and His ways?
Has your Pastor ever asked this you this question from the pulpit? Is Jesus King? I’ve heard it voiced a few times in the churches we have been a part of. Isn’t it amazing that we as believers sometimes go through times of thinking we know better than God? A friend of mine recently pointed out to me that when we do this we are sinning against Him in our unbelief. In addition to that we are putting ourselves and our own limited knowledge ahead of God - Our Maker, and Creator of the universe! Now, how silly is this, if you think about it?
Confess to God your unbelief, friends. Remind yourself of all He has done, and admit you have sinned and gone off track in putting yourself and your own desires ahead of His. Tell Him you trust Him, and know that He has you in His hand, and holds this whole great big world and all of the universe together. Thank Him, and Praise Him for who He is.
I
’m just thinking here, but I’m guessing at this point you may have an attitude change. You will see and know the peace of God which passes understanding. Your spirit will be lifted, and you will be able to go forward - in hope and in peace. If not, may I suggest you read Psalm 27 out loud? Let these verses sink in deep and do battle in your heart and mind.
We need Him so much in these trying times. Let’s remind ourselves continually who He is, and move forward in victory.
Revelation 19:16 “On His robe at His thigh was written this title: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”
Job 38:1-2 “Then the LORD spoke to Job out of the storm. He said: “Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge?”
Mark 9:24b “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!”
1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Isaiah 55:8 “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.”
Isaiah 41:13 “For I hold you by your right hand - I, the LORD your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.’’
Psalm 139:10 “Even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.”
Colossians 1:17 “He existed before anything else, and He holds all creation together.”
Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will keep guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
I pray this for you now, my friends.
Be Blessed,
