Jesus is Coming by Mountain Rose

Jesus is Coming by Mountain Rose

I pray each of you are in good health. We are in uncharted territory with the Covid-19 pandemic. We certainly do live in interesting times.

In the Gospel of Matthew chapter 24, the disciples came to Jesus privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.“

I’m going to focus for a moment on the last verse here, and the word pestilence. According to John MacArthur in his Study Bible “Pestilences are diseases and plagues…Even though we see those things happening around us now, they will happen on a scale like never before.

The terrible events of the end times will happen ‘in various places’. They won’t happen here and there from time to time; they will come in large doses in many places at the same time. There will be disasters to an extent never before known in history.”

Sobering, isn’t it? I do believe we are very near, or in the end times (also known as ‘the last days.’) My Pastor when talking about Jesus’ return for the church has often said “I can hear Jesus’ footsteps creaking on the front porch as He is reaching for the door knob”, to usher in his return in the clouds - as he left here.

Acts 1:9-11 “And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was going, behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them. They also said, ‘Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come <return> in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.’”

God has blessed my husband and I, as we have lived in the same area for over 20 years. Our Pastor’s Mother has been the most influential Bible Teacher in my life. I was able to sit under her teaching for at least 15 years. She shared that she was very thankful whenever she woke up and saw it was a cloudy day. Her response: “Maybe today, Lord, maybe today will be the day Your return!” What an amazing response to a grey day, dear Esther.

Jesus will return in the clouds.

1Thessalonians 4:15-17 “For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we always be with the Lord.”

This scripture is talking about Jesus’ return. He is returning at this future time “with a shout”, and “with the trumpet of God”, to gather up those who have died and knew Him as Savior, and then those of us who are alive and know Him, will also be gathered up. After His return, the Great Tribulation will begin and last for a period of 7 years.

He will return a second time, after the Great Tribulation, when his feet will touch the Mount of Olives, and He will defeat the armies of the world gathered for war against Him and the Father.

Revelation 16:16 “And they assembled them at the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.”

Revelation 19:19-21: “And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies gathered to make war against Him who was sitting on the horse and against His army. And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who in its presence had done the signs by which he deceived those who worshipped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur. And the rest were slain by the sword that came from the mouth of Him who was sitting on the horse…..”

I believe Jesus will defeat the kings and armies of the world gathered against Him with His word. Just as when he was here on earth for his ministry and spoke a word, and people were healed, or miracles happened. He comes at that time as KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS!

Well, friends, I have to ask again - do you know Jesus? I hope you do. Time is short, TODAY is the day of salvation. Please realize that our ‘todays’ are numbered – we will eventually run out of ‘todays’ and then step into eternity.

2 Corinthians 6:2b “Behold, now is the favorable time; now is the day of salvation.”

Do you know where you will go when your life is over here? Please seek out what the Bible has to say about this. Read the Gospel of John. It’s online, if you don’t have a copy of the Bible. I also wrote an article a while back called “Ultimate Preparedness”. Reading that, you will learn how you can know Jesus.

If you already know Jesus, many are looking for answers and hope in these days. Jesus IS our hope for eternity. Lovingly share the gospel with your friends and loved ones during these days. Be the hands and feet of Jesus. Give Him the glory for even the smallest of victories. I know Bravo Echo or I would enjoy hearing if anyone you know comes to faith in Christ in these times as a result of your testimony.

Be well, Be safe.

Blessings,

Mountain Rose
