Singing Mountains
Isaiah 49:13
“Shout for joy O heavens, rejoice O earth; burst into song, O mountains! For the Lord comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.”
Our family is very blessed because we moved to the Appalachian Mountains a little over 20 years ago. The mountains are a constant reminder of God’s majesty, strength, and faithfulness. Their size and beauty are all around us here, much like God surrounds us with his bonds of love.
I love our mountains, and yet our safety and trust is above and beyond them. Our money so far says “In God we Trust”. Our nation’s founders knew what they were doing when they used that as our nation’s motto. He is high and lifted up, above everything here.
ALL things praise Him. Be comforted, by the beauty of everything He has created around us. Every good gift comes from Him. He is the God of all comfort, the God of compassion. He sees, and knows everything we are experiencing.
“For you shall go out (from exile) with joy and be led forth by your Leader, the Lord Himself.” His word will “fill you with peace; the mountains and the hills shall break into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.” Isaiah 55:12 AMPC
“I lift up my eyes to the mountains - where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2 NIV
