Tactical Prayer by Mountain Rose

2 Chronicles 7:14 AMPC* “If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.”

“The remedy to our nation’s….woes must begin at the house of God. The process starts with personal repentance.” John MacArthur

In these days of the Corona Virus this scripture in 2nd Chronicles has been coming to mind. Have any of you watched the daily briefings from the White House? I’ve noticed several times when our Vice President has finished his statements he has closed with “and we will heal our land.” This caught my attention. We are all hoping for an end to the Corona Virus. You may know someone right now who is ill with it, or waiting for test results. But, can we as a people heal our land? I know God can heal us, as His word says here.

So, what does this verse say? “If my people who are called by my name…” As Christ followers, we are known as Christians. We are called by His name. We need to humble ourselves.

From bibleask.org “Humility is a modest view of one’s own importance. Humility is the attitude of heart, mind, and life that prepares the way for sanctification.” Sanctification means to be set apart for God.

The next part of 2 Chronicles 7:14 says “pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face”. We surely need God in these desperate days. Are we praying, or are we distracted? Are we seeking God?

1 Chronicles 16:1 “Seek the LORD, and His strength, seek His face continually.” KJV

Psalm 105:4 “Seek the LORD, and His strength, seek His face evermore.” KJV

“And turn from their wicked ways”. This is repentance, folks. What unconfessed sins do we have in our lives? For us as believers, is there any sin that we have not confessed, and then turned away from? If so, that is a barrier between us and God who is Holy. Our prayers will be ineffective until that sin is taken care of. Choose to go instead towards God and obedience.

Romans 12:9b “Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.”

Romans 12:21 “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

After confession from God’s people He says “then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.”

He will hear, forgive, and heal in that order. We certainly need all of these things.

I noticed earlier this week Bravo Echo shared a prayer here on his website. We must have been thinking along the same lines, as I was reminded of a certain prayer. My Sister reached out to me over the phone, and asked me about this Warfare Prayer that she remembers was used in my church several years ago. I shared a copy of this with her at that time, and she couldn’t find it. Fortunately I knew right where my copy was. So I snapped photos of the original and sent them to her.

This Warfare Prayer was written by Dr. Victor M. Matthews. He was a well-known teacher, preacher and professor.

Below you will find a link to the Warfare Prayer he wrote. I pray that you will experience victory in your personal life as you seek God’s face, and that He will heal our land.

Ephesians 6:10-13KJV

“Finally my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand.”

May God bless you as you seek Him,

Mountain Rose
