I wanted to share this with you as it was sent to me by a dear and close friend.
A "Veteran" - whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his/her life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount of "up to and including his/her life." That is honor. And there are way too many people in this country today, who no longer understand that fact.
I thank you and every Veteran, woman and man, past, present, and future who served our great nation. Those who served in every capacity around the world. Those who fought. Those who never returned. Those who supported in the rear. Those who returned different from when they left home. Those who never recovered. And to those who can't understand the sacrifices made, emotionally and physically, we defended your freedoms so please accept our differences and let us love the country we defended.
