Patriot Express Newsletter Edition #115

Greetings and welcome to the PENL Edition #115. Thanks for being here with us to check out some thoughts and preparedness information that will hopefully help you on this journey to self-reliance. While we approach the ending of June, we must stay focused and work on our preparedness plans and resources. I do believe the remainder of summer will be interesting and could become challenging. Are you ready?

It was a great week at Hope for Survival. Along with all the normal events and responsibilities through my week. I got to visit with a lot of fellow Patriots which always makes it a great week. It takes a lot of work keeping Hope for Survival functioning behind the computer screen with working the website, writing the weekly newsletter, putting the weekly zoom together, adding new Patriots to the data base, community team building, reading and researching, answering emails and so forth. But it's time on the ground visiting different communities and fellow Patriots that keeps things real and true. As I stated in a recent podcast appearance, the names on the computer screen are real Americans. People trying to live day to day and survive. This keeps everything in perspective and real. This is a good thing.

This week I got to visit Festus up on the Cumberland Plateau and share a meal over great conversations, as always. I share more on my conversation below in Thought for the Week. I would like to welcome a new group of Patriots who will build a community group south of Nashville, TN and will be called the Middle Tennessee Group. Welcome fellow Patriots. We are happy to have you with the HFS family. I even got to have breakfast with Bama Rebel himself and Ms. T. Dear friends and true Patriots. Bama Rebel is a man of few words and a abundance of wisdom when he does speak. I wanted to visit more Patriots during this period in Huntsville but I just ran out of time. I was hoping to stick around through Saturday to attend the Huntsville Alpha Groups training event. Maybe next time. I say this for everyone and to all the HFS Groups, keep preparing and learning skills. I hope I am wrong but I do believe we could get to use our resources and skills in the next few months. Stay alert and attentive to your local surroundings. If you haven't read my newest book The Mindset I would encourage you to do so soon. I'm not trying to sell you a book. I'm trying to help you with some information and tips to be alert and acting outside the box and left of bang. Your decision.

About the time you read this newsletter I will be back on the Cumberland Plateau on my travels back to East TN. I will be visiting and sharing a meal with eight plus Patriots in the area. It had been since December since we last gathered to chat and share a meal. Festus, Bev Jo, and Smokey was able to join us as well. It was a good time. Thanks for coming out to spend a few hours together.

I continue to be amazed at how many American loving Patriots we are surrounded with. Great people and great conversations shared. It seems I can never get enough time on the ground to spend with so many awesome Americans. Thanks to all who took the time to come out and share with HFS. Your support is greatly appreciated.

In my "thoughts for the week" I stay focused on preparedness and areas we must address and maintain, both spiritually and earthly. I share some thoughts on a conversation that Festus and I had during our visit. I will discuss why having a community team and plan is important and I also shared some suggestions on things to consider buying if we arrive to a "final 24 hour purchase" list. This is a longer PENL because I have a lot to share with you in my thoughts. Hope you stick around to the end.

We must make this brief public announcement to protect the innocent.

Ding, Ding, Ding....Attention HFS readers..... Opinions shared in this newsletter are just that, opinions, and nothing more. Read at your own risk. The owner and author of this site is not responsible for hurt feelings or thin-skinned readers. I do my best to show restraint and respect to the best extent possible. I take as many precautions as possible and try to remain as nonpolitical as possible, however, there are times when I just can't help but point certain things out. Occasionally I use words only Patriots recognize and understand. It's not personal against any non-Patriot. It's just the truth. Sometimes we must pull up our spenders and suck it up. Just saying. Stay the course, read what you want, and avoid the rest. Avoid fear porn as much as possible and the day will be okay. When all else fails… Keep the faith and always have Hope.

Let’s move along and get to some thoughts...

Thoughts for the week

It was a great week at Hope for Survival. Along with all the normal occurring events through my week I got to visit with a lot of fellow Patriots which always makes it a great week. A lot of keeping Hope for Survival functioning is behind the computer screen working the website, writing the weekly newsletter, putting the weekly zoom together, adding new Patriots to the data base, reading and researching, answering emails and so forth. But it's time on the ground in different communities visiting fellow Patriots that keeps things real and true. As I stated in a recent podcast appearance, the names on the computer screen are real Americans. People around the Southeastern United States trying to live day to day and survive. This keeps everything in perspective and real.

got to travel up the mountain to visit with Festus for a few hours. I have been so busy the past couple months I have not had the chance to venture up on the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee to get together. We had lunch together and had a good chat on numerous topics involving preparedness, faith, life, and communication capabilities to name a few. It is hard to solve the worlds problems in a few hours but we tried. I certainly appreciate all that Festus contributes to the weekly mission here at Hope for Survival. Reading and research is a large part of everything we attempt to offer to the followers at Hope for Survival. We don't do predictions but sometimes share opinions based on what we see. Connecting the dots to bring things together is a large part of putting the puzzle together. This takes a lot of time and is mentally taxing as well. Not to mention spending long hours reading negative news daily can be negative and personally impact ones mind and life. Staying focused and keeping life in perspective is critical. For years Festus and I cross check one another for personal sanity and staying grounded. Our personal faith is the strongest contributor daily.

One thing we discussed I want to share with you because it is important for everyone. We talked about how we are surrounded by so much negative news and changes to our nation that is causing a lot of people to be unsettled. Festus and I both often have unsettled gut feelings that we share between us. Change is moving people out of their normal mindset and moving them towards something unknown which is normally uncomfortable. The average person does not like change. Especially change that is mostly not acceptable in meeting the basic standards within the guardrails of morality. We do not like being moved out of our daily comfort zone to the unknown. We have so many battles going on in our great nation. We have the wealthy vs the middle class and poor. Christians vs all others. Racial division is growing. Democrats vs Republicans. Global warming vs anti-Global Warming, Shall I continue? Our government is pushing a anti-Patriot, anti-conservative, anti-Christian, anti-veteran, message against many. Negativity, negativity, negativity. How on earth can a person who stays caught up in it maintain a positive outlook?

The deeper message here is everything boils down to good vs evil. Right? Think about it. Everything our nation was founded on and survived on through history is now being taught as wrong. It is hate and disparaging to many. Of course many things happened in history that many could argue as being wrong. Think about how many people took part in building the greatest nation on earth. Think about all the great accomplishments through history that we enjoy today. Communications, electricity, air conditioning, the highway system, medical, the internet, laws offering equality and opportunity. Now voices are spouting the United States as being the worst place to live and how everyone is racist and criminal...blah, blah, blah. How many of these voices came here after birth and took the opportunity to have a better life? Ahh, we don't consider that part. Agenda vs opportunity. We hear comparatives to Marxism and Communism. For four straight years we heard "orange man bad" and today they continue to beat orange man up at every corner. Negative, negative, negative. Orange man promoted an agenda of America First and it was labeled racist by those with agendas vs opportunity. The southern border also offers an exit ramp that one can leave as freely as those entering illegally.

So lets dive deeper in to the problem. Why on earth do so many people still stay glued to the lie box watching this stuff spewed from the mouths of people being paid to communicate a set agenda? Why? I have shared with many how during the past 18 months I have been at peace through the duration of Covid-19, pre-election, election, and post-election, 2020. I watched and monitored what was taking place in our nation along with everyone else. I watched even closer the impact it was having on people. People I cared about and even worried about at times. I covered this a few weeks ago in another PENL on the psychology of media and how it consumes the mind and controls the person. But lets move beyond that. I heard a great spiritual message over the weekend and one of the key points delivered was how many people of faith are getting consumed by earthly stories and events and forgetting where to place their faith in their priority bucket. Been there done that myself at times in the past. I have been guilty as well. So know I'm not throwing rocks. I'm simply offering thoughts I learned from my own past. Fair enough?

Even a person who does not have a faith based background and looks at the many things happening in the nation and world, and approaches it from a neutral perspective, they should conclude these things are not good and even narrowed down to evil acts being placed against mankind. Control and unbalanced distribution of laws and regulations for a specific agenda set forth by the elites, high-tech, and the powerbrokers who infiltrated a system put forth to represent the people. All people. Equality for everyone. In our nation today, any person who puts forth the energy and effort to walk out their front door can find a program or mechanism to find a path to better their life. Education, jobs, special needs, and they are all protected to ensure opportunity to excel and improve from their current status. It is that simple. However, the same organization is aiding and pampering the same people to draw benefits that prevents the motivation to step forward. Many American citizens refuse to step-back and read and understand what is taking place in the big scheme of things. The information is there and they only have to put forth the effort to find it. Of course. Why should they when they are being paid to stay home and do nothing.

Stay with me, I'm about done running around the bushes. I promise.

Over the past ten years or more, Festus and I spent thousands of hours reading and filing away information that has now surfaced and come in to play. We don't know the future nor will we predict it. But we share what we see and encourage everyone to stay focused on their faith more so than the negative news and events here in our nation. We have spent long hours reading things most people will not take the time to find or read. In our chat we agreed everything is boiling down to good vs evil. If folks would take the time to read a little deeper they would figure out everything we are seeing has been documented and laid out for the eyes to read years ago. Heck, just between reading Agenda 2030 and the Bible one can draw their own conclusion to where this is headed. Even a person who doesn't read or believe in the Bible and believes Agenda 2030 is a conspiracy theory can read about the path we are on. It is laid out and clear to me. Why do so many people of faith focus on the continued earthly path and so little on God's word to what is to come? I start off each class, as well as my books, by saying "all individuals must address their personal physical, spiritual, and psychological well being" before anything else. Why would I suggest such a thing? Many good people are going to face some not so good people and events in the days to come and getting prepared requires a personal investment in being spiritually prepared as well as the earthly preparedness. It is good vs evil. Don't let the earthly evil sway your focus and concentration away from the time and energy spent on your personal faith.

I got a very nice email from our Monticello, KY. Patriot brother to share dates for the HFS training at that location. He also offered me some very kind words on feedback from my newest book, The Mindset" and how HFS preparedness and team building is growing in his area. This was super news to hear. Thanks for sharing the news with me.

The date for HFS to travel to Monticello, KY to teach a full day of preparedness classes has been set and I'm so excited to be traveling back to blue grass state again to spend time with my Kentucky family again. This is going to be another great trip. Good people, good eating, good time, and all the sides to go with it. Amen. The dates are August 27 - 29. If you are in the area or near Monticello, KY and want to join us please email me and I will put you on contact with the Monticello POC. You won't regret investing your time in this event. I can't wait to hear what menu is planned for lunch on training day. The last event was smoked pork and turkey, homemade mac and cheese, beans, slaw, cornbread, homemade cakes and pies....and more. When I said "family event" I wasn't kidding.

Things to buy in the last 24 hours

In the event of a economic crash, change of the dollar to digital currency and end of the dollar, we may be directed to turn in our paper bills on hand. These are items one could consider rushing out to purchase immediately to convert paper money to resources. This list could be a mile long and these are just some things you may need or use to add to your existing resources or have available as spares. Remember, one is none, two is one, and three is better. And, you may have minimal time and access to locations with these and other products. Your personal safety is more important than resources. I would encourage you to make your own list to have on stand by. Name the resource, what store it is located, and maybe even the aisle it is on to save time. Three factors could determine your success in getting resources. Time-Money-Availability. Have a plan and know how to use it to your best success.

- Tires for auto’s, mowers, tractors, four wheelers, motorized and pedal two wheel devices

- Batteries for all components, vehicles, boats, solar, mowers, tractors….

- Tools for home, yard, repairs…shovels, rakes, saws, hammers, …..

- Resources for setting up rain barrel collection, cleansing, and pumping

- Box Store run buying medicinal, paper products, socks, underclothing

- Hardware for home plumbing, electrical, wood, fencing….

- Sheets of plywood for home use, window coverings to protect glass during escalated tensions

- Rolls of black plastic for black out curtains, wrapping, and multiple uses

- Animal feed and supplies with the ability to store same to keep fresh long term

- - Fuel – Fill all containers and vehicles one last time

- Likely not available, however if you can obtain more resources to support your personal defense plan do so.

- If you do not already have solar panels, purchase one or more, inverters and charge controller to recharge deep cycle and marine batteries you purchase.

- If you do not own a generator do so, however if not solar you will need fuel to operate

- Wood burning stove. Will require installation and wood to burn. Better to have than not have when needed

- Green House Kit

- Chicken Coup Kit, foods and resources needed for raising and caring for chickens

- Extra clothing one and two sizes smaller than your current weight

- Think of life without electricity and what you would need, how to use it, and power it

- Spools of barbed wire from hardware store

- Rolls of fencing from hardware store. Can be used as barrier around property, gardens, and put across windows during increased threats and tensions.

The importance of understanding your community should be near the top of your priorities in your preparedness planning. I would like to share with you the impact of being in a community that is unprepared, unarmed, but culturally connected. This is a bit graphic so be aware of it.

In my former life in uniform I was serving in the Balkan region supporting the Kosovo crisis. I had already been to and supported Bosnia and Sarajevo, Republic of Czechoslovakia, Estonia, Poland, Romania, Albania, and Hungary, as well as a few other places where it accounted for months of my life. It was part of what had been raging through the Balkans and Eastern Europe for years. War was not uncommon to this region of the world yet never got a lot of attention other than the word war. The dispute over Kosovo is centuries-old. Serbia cherishes the region as the heart of its statehood and religion. Numerous medieval Serb Orthodox Christian monasteries are in Kosovo. Serb nationalists view a 1389 battle against Ottoman Turks there as a symbol of its national struggle

More recently, the conflict in Kosovo was Slobodan Milosevic, and his oppression of the ethnic Albanians there for the preceding decade. There, Serb forces attempted to fend off the invading Turks, with ethnic Albanians probably fighting on both sides of the battle. Serbia reacted with a plan to reduce the power of Albanians in the province and a propaganda campaign that claimed Serbs were being pushed out of the province primarily by the growing Albanian population, rather than the bad state of the economy. So dependent to who you asked, the story changed for the cause.

During the period, it was said that Sec of State Albright warned President Clinton that he couldn't afford another genocide on his record. The first being in Africa. It was a very odd situation to be in the middle of because American forces tried to keep the Serbs from slaughtering the Muslim Albanians living in Kosovo. Drilling down deeper it was Catholics vs Muslims. America was defending the Muslim Albanians from the Catholic Serbs while Muslim forces outside Kosovo shadowed American forces trying to kill us.

On the ground in Kosovo communities, the Serb forces would go street by street, home by home, and gather up teenage boys and all the men, and execute them by beheading them and placing their heads on the mailbox post to send a message to all the neighbors. Of course it terrified everyone to include the ladies in the home. They would basically have one hour to pack and flee the area or be killed. Imagine how an armed, organized, and prepared neighborhood plan could respond to this threat.

You see, these neighborhoods had faced threats and war for years. These people simply tried to survive and live each day as it passed. Food was day to day. Living was day to day because tomorrow was not promised. There was a cultural connection of faith and ethnicity, however there was no community team to keep the enemy and threats out. Heck, they didn't have the ability to collect threat information to alert others. They basically survived as a community simply through finding food and water. They had no ability to physically defend outsiders who threatened their lives. Even if your community has no armed security, having good intelligence on potential threats it will allow you to take precautionary measures to protect your family.

Keeping my past experience in the back of mind, this is why I created the HFS Protecting Your Five Mile Radius concept. You must have food and water to survive but you also must know and understand your community, plan as one community, know your threats inside and outside your community, and design a security concept with defense in depth by pushing out the threat as far as you can build it. You want to keep the threat as far as possible while knowing the potential threats within your community. There is a big difference between the threat being five miles away vs not sleeping at night because the threat across the street may be giving threat information pertaining to your community away to outside threats. All of this information and preparing for it is done through proper risk analysis and threat mitigation. As an example, life is much different when you are working in your garden and the community alerting alarm goes off vs waking up one morning and your neighbors head is on a mail box post.

Knowing who your potential enemy is before they become your enemy will make planning much more manageable because you have time to assess, plan, and mitigate it as a threat. Putting forth the effort after an event occurs will make it much harder to manage.

The word Patriots will soon become a target and a crime to use according to the Department of Justice and President. That means I may be committing a crime calling you great Americans, Patriots. Citizens of this great nation who believe in the Constitution, Bill of Rights, will soon become criminals according to our own Government. Currently American Patriots are being held in solitary confinement in Washington D.C. because they stood for the foundation our nation was built upon....God and the equal rights for all citizens. If you consider yourself a Patriot I would suggest reading the new Federal position on it. National-Strategy-for-Countering-Domestic-Terrorism.pdf (whitehouse.gov) Think about that.

Thank you all for the support and prayers to our brother and sister during a time of immediate need.

May we pray for all the blessings and things in life to be thankful about and continued hope for revival around the world. We must continually pray for the unsaved, our family and friends who live each day without the protection for eternal life and salvation.

As Patriots we must stay strong and never give up. Our home, community and nation needs us now more than ever. Our nation suffers in many areas. The hole will only get deeper. The headwinds are strong against us but we must keep charging. Have a safe week. Don't allow the events around you to create fear in your life. Build your own self-reliance and focus on hope. Remember we are a blessed nation and we must continue to be great people today and make a better tomorrow. Keep charging."
