Patriot Express Newsletter Edition #166
Greetings and welcome to the Patriot Express Newsletter Edition #166. Thanks for stopping by to spend a few minutes with us. As we roll through June the craziness continues more and more. People are losing it around the nation. Gun violence is increasing as we near a scheduled November election. Will it happen or will be locked down again and require mail in voting? Why does gun violence increase just before midterm and four-year elections when Democrats hold the office of the Presidency? Hmmm, just wondering.
As I put the final pieces of this week's PENL together I watch the DOW Jones tank and my wonders of what next week will bring. The current news is not good. Shipping indexes around the world are terrible, and now we hear of possible soil shortages. Fellow Patriots the nation is going mad, and our personal preparedness investment is looking better by the hour.
Life is still pretty hectic for us here in East, TN, but it is what it is, no complaints. I'm thankful for each day with loved ones, HFS family, and our good friends. Each day seems to be a trial to stay focused and make things happen on the family side, preparedness side, and keep HFS moving forward. I appreciate all the support passed our way in text, phone calls, emails, and phone calls. You certainly make this time in life more comforting. Thank you.
I traveled back to East TN late this week to tend to a few things at home and spend my birthday with Ms. Lucy. I will travel back to VA around the time the PENL post for this week's edition. Festus provided the lead article below and its one you should read and give some inner thought about. I appreciate Festus help and support. HFS wants to continue providing the PENL to you weekly to hopefully encourage you to continue preparing and building your plans.
I do want to give a shout out to a few members of the HFS Franklin group who packed up and went on an overnight hiking/camping journey. Three adults, one ten-year-old child, and a dog, took off up and down the trails with gear and a lot of rain. It didn't dampen their spirits or willpower to test skills and equipment against the weather to survive as needed. I applaud the Patriot mom to the young daughter because she has been training her children for several years in different areas of preparedness. Great job for your effort and a job well done.

78 years ago, on June 5, General Dwight Eisenhower launched Operation Overlord. Allied forces hit the beach in the early morning hours of June 6. Commonly known as the D-Day invasion, the momentum of World War II shifted in favor of the Allies on that day. The undertaking of this operation was enormous. Information from the National Archives states:
“By May 1944, 2,876,000 Allied troops were amassed in southern England. The largest armada in history, made up of more than 4,000 American, British, and Canadian ships, lay in wait, and more that 1,200 planes stood ready.”
Can we draw inspiration and guidance from the “greatest generation” to deal with our problems and the immense dangers this country is facing today? Here is the radio address that General Eisenhower presented to the United States the evening of June 6, 1944. Read it carefully and contemplate if any part of it can be applied to today and if so, how.
Text of Radio Address - Prayer on D-Day, June 6, 1944:

"My fellow Americans: Last night, when I spoke with you about the fall of Rome, I knew at that moment that troops of the United States and our allies were crossing the Channel in another and greater operation. It has come to pass with success thus far.
And so, in this poignant hour, I ask you to join with me in prayer:
Almighty God: Our sons, pride of our Nation, this day have set upon a mighty endeavor, a struggle to preserve our Republic, our religion, and our civilization, and to set free a suffering humanity.
Lead them straight and true; give strength to their arms, stoutness to their hearts, steadfastness in their faith.
