Patriot Express Newsletter Edition #196
Greetings and welcome to the Patriot Express Newsletter Edition #196. We are now in full stride to 2023 with so many unknowns and hopeful expectations of having our hopes uplifted in many ways. We must be careful where we place our trust in these hopeful changes and adjustments to the path, we journeyed in 2022 as a nation. Wouldn't you agree?
It was a busy week but good in many ways. Getting to spend time with HFS Patriots always lifts the mood and time invested is positive in many ways. Something we all must keep in mind is we all are human and we all deep dive in thought and often end up with more unanswered questions than when we started. It is how we process questions and where we get answers that matters. Not to tinkle on anyone's high hopes but many believe 2023 is going to get worse and be much more of the same and worse. I think we all realize this and expected it. It is how we process it and what we do with the information that is critical. Staying balanced is difficult and without caution it would be easy to end up on the wrong end in a deep dive searching to become grounded again. If this applies to you, step back and find a safe place for you.
I don't know about you, but I'm finding it harder and harder to share what is going on in our nation and the world, with others who are still on planet Kool-Aid. In a very short time, we have witnessed national and global voices crying conspiracy to now outwardly being brazen about using global intelligence services to coerce big tech and national media outlets to deliver a designed narrative supporting Russia collusion and enough bull skittles to gag a maggot. If you are still not convinced, I'm not sure your wings will ever flap. Go take a look at a recent article discussing the Attorney General of Puerto Rico being fired for suing JP Morgan over their open claims to have knowingly supported the payrolls of Jeffrey Epstein shenanigans. Once again, someone at the top is protecting the law-breaking masses who are laughing all the way to the bank.
Yep, maybe another story for another time.
So let me enjoy my Trader Joe's Salted Caramel Cocoa and move ahead on this week's journey.

HFS Thursday Zoom Session 101 - HFS conducted the first zoom session of 2023 with a special guest discussing Stress Management and Mental Health with those who attended. This was a great topic and discussion as we start the new year. With all the added stress in life from the world around us, how we recognize and manage our own stress is critical to positive health care. Thanks to those who attended.

We must make this brief public announcement to protect the innocent.
Ding, Ding, Ding....Attention HFS readers..... Opinions shared in this newsletter are just that, opinions, and nothing more. Read at your own risk. The owner and author of this site is not responsible for hurt feelings or thin-skinned readers. I do my best to show restraint and respect to the best extent possible. I take as many precautions as possible and try to remain as nonpolitical as possible, however, there are times when I just can't help but point certain things out. Occasionally I use words only Patriots recognize and understand. It's not personal against any non-Patriot. It's just the truth. Sometimes we must pull up our spenders and suck it up. Just saying. Stay the course, read what you want, and avoid the rest. Avoid fear porn as much as possible and the day will be okay. When all else fails… Keep the faith and always have Hope.
Let’s move along and get to some thoughts...
Thoughts for the week -
"By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail." - Benjamin Franklin
Preparedness planning - You have probably discovered it is easier to say "prepping" or "preparing" than to actually do it. If taken seriously, it can almost become a full-time job and control your days and nights. Just like with events, both manmade and natural occurrences, we want to ensure we are in control vs allowing the event or processes to get prepared to control us and our emotions.
Often, I see people making a post on social media and they provide a picture of their preparedness closet which shows a single shelf filled with store bought canned goods and a box of pop tarts. Now as much as we can see and then say "I'm sorry, but either you misunderstood what preparing is about," or," I hope your family or neighbor prepares because what you have stocked is enough for the car ride to a safe place." We all have our own perception of the world, what we need, and how to go about it. Can we agree to this?
One can prepare minimal and in their mind it is enough. To the preparer who prepared more than minimal, it is not enough. To those who prepared a lot, minimal and some is not enough. My point is we all see things in a different manner and we each must choose what degree of preparedness we seek to accomplish. This is a personal choice of the individual and the same individual must then endure the consequences of minimal or some is not enough.
Personally, I believe one should prepare for the long term as much as possible because the evidence of what I have identified the past years identifies numerous issues in our nation and around the world. From supply chain issues to the massive debt our nation faces. From food shortages globally to the increasing number of natural disasters impacting food growth and supply deficiencies. From increased shipping cost and fuel shortages for transportation to move products. From strife between citizens and governments to the decline of social and moral decay amongst nations where a large populace believes not working and living on free money is a future. From water shortages creating local and national water supply issues to a failure of local and federal government identifying a crisis and then providing a plan to address the issues presented by the crisis. The list goes on and on, yet a large percentage of citizens wait and depend on a failed system to continue providing vital resources needed for surviving.
One must ask, at what point will citizens realize the walls are caving in and soon the resources required to survive are no longer attainable like the past life we enjoyed? We must be responsible for our family and community together and we see minimal effort in this area. I know many of you that I communicate with are working hard to achieve self-sufficiency in as many ways as possible, however if those around you are not, it leaves you and all of us preparers vulnerable when we witness starving dehydrated people surrounding us.
What is the answer or solution? Getting and being prepared. Sounds pretty simple huh? Many of us try to convince family members to wake up and start preparing and we get the same sob story or else we are criticized repeatedly for being dramatic or a conspiracy nut. Right? Don't give up. Simply plant the seed, be positive, and press forward. But, when the time comes and those who criticized you are hungry and foodless, it will then be up to you to decide how you will handle the situation.
