Greetings and welcome to the Patriot Express Newsletter Edition #233. Thanks for being here and sharing your time with us. We appreciate you. It has been great having a week of vacation on the eastern seaboard this week. Sometimes we don't realize our mind and body needs a change of pace to rest. I pass a big thanks along to Festus for providing this week's article for your reading pleasure under thoughts for the week. Thanks brother. Excellent read.

We had a great trip traveling from East TN to the shores of South Carolina. We got to stop off along the journey and have a late lunch with two HFS Patriots. Can you say buffet style with smoked pork and fried chicken as the attention getters, okra, mac and cheese, cooked greens, mashed potatoes and gravy, honey cornbread, banana pudding and apple cobbler. The food was great, but the company and time spent with our fellow Patriots was better. Thank you so much for your hospitality. It was great to catch up, laugh, and laugh some more. There is something about discussing toilet paper quality and paper tubes while eating cooked greens. Know what I am saying?

I'm reading and hearing more fanaticism going on relating to October 4, 2023, especially on blog posts. If you are preparing daily and paying attention, Oct 4 should be no different than Oct 3 or Oct 5. Preparing daily is just that. Head on a swivel is just that. Focusing on all possible threats is just that. How many of you lost your minds back when Orange Man ran the same national test during his tenure? Oh, you don' remember that happening? ‘Presidential Alert’ Goes to Millions of Cellphones Across the U.S. - The New York Times (nytimes.com) Folks, I don't trust Washington any more than the next person. But losing your mind daily is falling in line with paranoia and that will sink your ship faster than government conspiracies coming true. Advice, stop worrying so much about what they are going to do and worry more about what you should or need to be doing. Just saying.

I want to leave you with this question as we transition through the PENL for this week. Where are all the warriors at? Where has the warrior mentality gone? A strong nation cannot survive with a politically correct nation and keep a warrior mindset. Not possible. Look at the status of our nation today. We are maybe one generation away from a male class who will turn in their parent's weapons and also lack the ability to defend our great nation.

Thoughts for the week -

Mountain thoughts from Festus

Over the course of time in Hope for Survival (HFS), Butch and I have discussed various constitutional issues and promoted the book “Saving the Constitution” by Dr. Richard Pryor. I even interviewed Dr Proctor in one of our zoom meetings and he did a special question and answer session for us in a separate zoom meeting. Time flies but I think that was about 2 years ago.

I have recently been taking a 12 week course studying the U.S. Constitution from the Institute on the Constitution at www.TheAmericanView.com. This has been time very well spent.

As a result, I have been having various thoughts on how and when this country started moving from a Constitutional Republic toward a socialist democracy. Some people will take it farther and say the U.S. has been overthrown and is now a communist dictatorship but still somewhat clothed as a democracy. Strong arguments can be made to support that statement. The difference between those points seems to depend on legal definitions but to the average person the difference may be small. Especially if they don’t know history, pay attention to events, and get involved in solutions.

I have heard various opinions of who/what is to blame for this progressive deterioration of the U.S. Thoughts of blame include churches, banking, legislative branch, executive branch, judicial branch, education system, corporations actions of lobbying and collusion, society as a whole due to not caring about much of anything, globalists funding, political party and actions, and more.

Some folks will boil it down further into a battle between good and evil. Certainly accurate.

All of the above items have merit in the thought process and in reality all of them have contributed to or driven actions that bring us where we are today.

There is also a lot of debate among the people who are finally waking up to the situation the country is in about when things got so bad. It seems that most think it has been a fairly recent, as in the last few years, or maybe even in the last 50 years or so. Maybe this is because the people who are waking up can’t believe it has been going on for a long time. Maybe it’s because people don’t know accurate history (which quite often is different from what they are taught in school). Maybe it is because people don’t know the Constitution itself. Just as with the reasons why we are at this point, the slipping away from the Constitution did not happen with any one particular event but several that started building on each other. And now seems to be progressing at an ever increasing rate and degree of severity on all our lives.

However, the same motivations and deliberate and coordinated actions that we have seen recently in stolen elections and weaponized governmental functions are nothing new. When you look at the first 10 Amendments (Bill of Rights) of the Constitution all 10 are specifically limiting the function and authority of the Federal government. Amendments 11th thru the 27th Amendments generally expand the authority of the central (Federal) government. These changes started in 1798, not long at all after the Constitution was ratified and the Bill of Rights adopted. But it was really starting with Amendment 12 that started changing what the founding fathers penned.

More specifically look at:

Amendment 12 in 1804……….. Originally the electoral college voted for individuals, not parties. This amendment changed that. Many people today want to do away with it entirely. If they are able to succeed then presidential elections would cease to exist the way they do today and become a popular vote. Which would mean no republic but a democracy because the majority rules. The big cities on the coasts would control everything for the entire country.

Amendment 14 in 1868…….created several issues including what are now known as anchor babies. It also gave Congress unlimited power to enforce the provisions in this amendment. That is opposite of limiting the Federal government as originally intended. Also, there were quite a few irregularities the ratification process that were never adequately dealt with. There is a lot of evidence that shows this amendment was never actually ratified legally. Sound familiar to recent elections?

Amendment 16 in 1913…..created the income tax. Congress had passed income tax in 1893 but the Supreme Court ruled it unconstitutional in 1895. So Congress passed this Amendment in 1909 and it was “ratified” in 1913. Again, there is a lot of evidence that shows this amendment was never actually legally ratified. Also, this amendment violates Article 1, Section 9 of the Constitution. Again, sound kind of familiar to shenanigans today?

Amendment 17 in 1913…..Changed how Senators are elected which took away a lot of power from the states. Again violating the original Constitution. And again there is a lot of evidence this was not legally ratified.

Oh, and let’s not forget that the Federal Reserve system (not a part of the U.S. government) was also created in 1913. In my opinion this has been very detrimental to the country ever since. Let’s just say that inflation has steadily eroded most people’s assets and the national debt has increased ever since.

Seems that there was a concerted effort in the early 1900s to make huge changes to the original intent and legality of the Constitution. Definite movements away from the republic the founding fathers handed to us. These efforts sure seem to be well thought out and planned and the timing well executed. The activities involved in the “ratification” these amendments are eerily similar to the election processes of the last few years. Illegitimate results but accepted, nonetheless.

I am sure some of you are tired of us asking the question …… what it will take to get people out of their recliners, out the door, and actually past the mailbox to get involved in what they can really do. A few of you have actually gone past the mailbox and gotten involved in local politics, school boards, talked to your local sheriff, etc. This is great and we are really thankful and glad for you. We have also done these things and more. And these activities are on top of the time it takes us to research and prepare the weekly newsletters and regular zoom meetings.

Some of you are so busy with trying to prepare for what’s coming you don’t have the time to do more. Across HFS there are a few legitimate (in my opinion) cases where this might be true. However, overall my response is you don’t have the time not to get involved on the local level. No it is not easy. No this is not how I wanted to spend my retirement years. Yes it can be uncomfortable talking to our “leaders”. But until enough people at their local level get actively involved in identifying and actively supporting conservative candidates who know the Constitution and are willing to take the actions necessary to fulfill their oath of office then nothing will change in a positive direction. If enough “local” activity occurs in more and more counties then a movement is born and starts driving things at the state level. This country did not get in the sad and dangerous shape it is in overnight and the best way to reverse course and move things back to the Constitution will take time and a lot of effort by a lot of people. Yes it will take a lot of effort for a long time. But if all of us don’t do these things I don’t think our children and grandchildren have much of a chance of experiencing freedom of anything nor the benefits of capitalism.

So the real question that every individual must respond to is …..what level are YOUR preparations for? Are your activities for yourself to live another day? Do your activities address a bigger picture?

Think about these questions:

Are preparations physical and for yourself and those you love? Do preparations include actions on the local level to address the political activities? Do preparations include spending sharing and instructional time with your family to guide and instruct and cherish the children? Do preparations include addressing your faith…..what you believe and why and implementing those convictions in your daily life? Do your preparations include the time and effort to really know who you are and what makes you tick so that when presented with difficult circumstances you already basically know what to do?

These are all important questions with no easy answers. It takes a lot of time and effort to consciously balance preparations across all areas of life. This is a journey and I don’t know that we ever fully arrive. But if you make this investment in yourself you can hold your head up knowing that you cognitively and deliberately did the best that you could for yourself, your loved ones. It is our responsibility a citizen of a Constitutional Republic.

The HFS family needs lots of prayers right now. We have several sisters and brothers in great need of uplifting. We continue to have lots of illness from state to state, and we lost two loved ones in the past two weeks. Please keep these Patriots in your thoughts and prayers.

May we pray for all the blessings and things in life to be thankful about and continued hope for revival around the world. We must continually pray for the unsaved, our family and friends who live each day without the protection for eternal life and salvation.

As Patriots we must stay strong and never give up. Our home, community, and nation need us now more than ever. Stay focused on your local community and things that will impact you around the nation. Don't allow the events around you to create fear in your life. Build your own self-reliance and focus on faith and hope. Remember we are a blessed nation, and we must continue to be great people today and make a better tomorrow. Keep charging.
