Patriot Express Newsletter Edition #234

Greetings and welcome to the Patriot Express Newsletter Edition #234. Thanks for being here and sharing your time with us. We appreciate you. Are you ready for month 10 of 2023? October and the changing of the seasons is my favorite leading to Thanksgiving. I'm looking forward to the changing of the leaves here in Eastern TN, across VA and into WV. Hopefully we have magnificent colors with all the rain we had over the past few months. There is nothing as beautiful as God's creations.

I know the world is upside down and bouncing sideways, it seems. Crazy isn't it? You know, I find myself escaping the crazy stuff and thinking about good times in life growing up. I try hard to remember specific times to focus on events hoping I can learn something from what I remember. Make sense? My grandparents had a good life and made sure they took advantage of time with grandchildren. My grandmother lost her mother around 12 years of age and had to drop out of school to raise her two younger siblings. She married my grandfather and together with their three children they lived in a coal camp. Hard life. Once their children left home my grandmother went back and completed her GED and then achieved a nursing certificate. My grandfather left the coal mines and purchased a Texaco gas station, and eventually he owned three gas stations. He managed all three and also worked his garden using the headlights from his truck to pick weeds after dark. He worked seven days per week, for years. My point is, I got to see the good times when I visited, and it wasn't until I aged some that I realized what hard work was about. It was normal. Welfare was nonexistent. Neighbors took care of neighbors, and communities cared for their people. Not the government. Our government hijacked our way of life founded on hard work and self-responsibility.

I've come to realize defining insanity here today will not be accurate come next Friday. The world is spinning faster and faster and I'm fairly confident the carnival workers fled and left us all riding the Ferris wheel unattended. Is insanity the new norm? Watching Patriots lose their minds over what they believe will happen on Oct 4, 2023, leads me to believe we still have yet to learn a fight is waiting ahead and right now we are being pummeled and evidentially enjoying it. We must make the most of each day we are blessed to have and put forth effort to make each day better for ourselves, family, and community. Failing is not an option.

Through all the ups and downs, stop and count your blessings, keep your hope and faith. I'm proud of so many of you for your hard work and efforts.

Ding, Ding, Ding....Attention HFS readers..... Opinions shared in this newsletter are just that, opinions, and nothing more. Read at your own risk. The owner and author of this site is not responsible for hurt feelings or thin-skinned readers. I do my best to show restraint and respect to the best extent possible. I take as many precautions as possible and try to remain as nonpolitical as possible, however, there are times when I just can't help but point certain things out. Occasionally I use words only Patriots recognize and understand. It's not personal against any non-Patriot. It's just the truth. Sometimes we must pull up our spenders and suck it up. Just saying. Stay the course, read what you want, and avoid the rest. Avoid fear porn as much as possible and the day will be okay. When all else fails… Keep the faith and always have Hope.

Let’s move along and get to some thoughts...

Thoughts for the week -

October 4th - You may have noticed and be asking, why have I not discussed October 4th, 2023, and all the rumors of multiple conspiracies being shouted from the mountain tops. Well, it is easy. If one focuses on preparedness and building plans, rumors of events will not redirect my focus or attention away from what is important. Being prepared. Additionally, HFS has covered in great detail how to build plans to protect the individual, family, and community from a multitude of possible threats.

I see way too many people who say they have been preparing for months or years losing their mind over October 4th. Think about it. Why? Completing steps in preparedness should build one's confidence and self-reliance. The stronger your preparedness plans and package is, the less fear one should have. Yes, the unknown is scary and yes it can be stressful. But I don't personally worry about what I can't change. I focus on things I can change and that is my own preparedness. Being prepared when Covid-19 hit America allowed my family and prepared friends to avoid stores and populated areas. Why? We had all the resources on hand and could stand back and watch as 90% of the nation lost their minds.

Losing focus is easy and fear will do just that. Fear breeds panic and panic fuels failure and causes prepared individuals to forget everything they have learned. This is why HFS has recommended to individuals and families to conduct their own 24 hour and 72 hour exercises to test their plans and resources. It is proven we play how we practice and it is evident many have not been practicing based on the actions I'm witnessing today.

Stop and think about it. Consider all the effort and time, not to mention funds, you have invested in your preparedness. Demonstrating fear is showing the elites they win and failure is looming ahead of you. That is unnecessary and avoidable simply through ones focus and confidence in their preparedness planning.

What actions did you take to prevent or stop Covid-19? I'm waiting. I'm listening. None. But, what you did do was separate yourself from the masses regardless of how prepared you may have been in March of 2020. See how fast you learned that step? You took action to avoid being like the unprepared and masses. If you are here reading this you are likely better prepared now. October 4th is another day with rumors of another threat. Think about all the threats you have heard about in the past five years that didn't pan out or come true. Right?

Stick to the basics and do the basics. Control your own life and do NOT allow the system to control you or else they win, again.

Next.....

Why? Tell me something, why are you not madder than heck right now? Are you asleep and just not paying attention? It's bad enough we are so in debt as a nation we have to borrow money to pay the interest on our national debt. Would you agree our elected officials are totally ignoring the good of America to support foreign entities. These fat cats wearing overpriced three-piece suits (other than the Senator from Pennsylvania) sucking in so much free stuff paid for by "we the people" and they continue screwing us taxpayers at every opportunity.

We are freely funding illegals crossing our border who declare a wish for refuge and protection from one threat or another, a nice monthly government check of over $4,000 per month. Get that? Is your retirement and/or social security paying you this much? Who has your back when you come up short or in need of more funding for a personal emergency?

We are involved in a war we can't afford and truly do not have a just reason to be in Ukraine. Unless, what we aren't being told and is pretty evident with a little research, Ukraine will be the wheat basket of the world in about three years or less. This is driven by all the global natural changes occurring before our eyes. But, the question remains, why are US taxpayers not only funding a unwanted war in Ukraine, but we are also funding the pensions of roughly 57,000 Ukrainian government employees. In Ukraine, American taxpayers funding more than just the military | 60 Minutes - CBS News Maybe you want to ask your government representative, why? In Ukraine, American taxpayers funding more than just the military | 60 Minutes - CBS News Maybe you want to ask your government representative, why?

Remember a few painful years ago when thousands of middle-class family businesses went under and never recovered or reopened? The government funded millions of unemployed Americans staying at home living off the check with their new flat screen televisions and other nice taxpayer funded gifts. Around June of 2021, the American overall citizen savings balance was roughly $1.5 trillion dollars. Now, just about 2 months later that same balance of citizen savings is less than $300 billion. That means our citizens spent roughly $1 trillion dollars of saved money while also running up credit card debt to comparable all-time highs. What's wrong with this picture? Who is working for who in this picture?

Personally, I use all the negative events and news as fuel to feed my desire to prepare, help others prepare, and focus on myself, family, and community. You can do the same if you desire. We will not survive as a nation on this pace forward. It is just that simple. If a person didn't know better, they may come to the conclusion this is all planned and intentional. Just saying...

Preparedness News -

As we move forward, we all should be homing in on our key essentials for preparing. Food and water are a good starting point. Here's some suggestions to consider for your food and water. These are only suggestions to cross-check against what you have. No matter what happens going forward, you still have to pay the checkout bill at the grocery store and if you haven't noticed lately, it is painful.

The following are part of a 33-page Hope for Survival multi-task and resource, checklist.

Finding Water:

The most obvious sources are streams, rivers and lakes. Animals always know where the water is, so be on the lookout for wildlife or animal tracks. Lush green vegetation is also a sign that water is nearby. Swarming insects may be a hassle, but they also signal that a water source isn't far away.

Natural Spring: Trace springs back from streams and ponds to find their source. Use a topographical map or personally survey the land to determine points where a spring may emerge. Springs are naturally occurring sources of water that originate underground and flow to the surface.

Additional Water Sources to Consider:

· Cucumber, 96% water. Cucumbers are made up of 96% water – that's the highest water content of any food. ...

· Tomatoes, 95% water. Tomatoes are made up of 95% water. ...

· Spinach, 93% water. ...

· Broccoli, 90% water. ...

· Brussel sprouts, 88% water. ...

· Oranges, 86% water. ...

· Apples, 85% water.

Wild Plants Used for Hydration:

· 1 – Melons: Melons of any kind are quite helpful in situations where water is scarce. ...

· 2 – Squash: ...

· 3 – Cacti: ...

· 4 – Berries: ...

· 5 – Dandelion: ...

· 6 – Vines:

Tips for storing water in a container after cleaning and sanitizing:

· Label container as “drinking water” and include storage date.

· Replace stored water every six months.

· Keep stored water in a place with a fairly constant cool temperature (50–70°F).

· Do not store water containers in direct sunlight.

Bottled water safety (Store purchased and home stored)

I know many folks who purchase and store cases of bottled water for part of their water plan. This is key information to consider. Though water itself doesn't expire, bottled water often has an expiration date. ... This is because plastic can begin to leach into the water over time, contaminating it with chemicals, such as antimony and bisphenol A (BPA) (5 , 6 , 7 ).

Best Water Storage Container to Consider:

You'll need a safe container in which to store it. The general guideline is to use food-grade plastic bottles. You can also use glass bottles so long as they haven't stored non-food items. Stainless steel is another option, but you won't be able to treat your stored water with chlorine, as it corrodes steel.

If lost in the woods, how do I find water?

Start digging. Anywhere you see dampness on the ground or green vegetation, dig a large hole a few feet deep, and you'll likely get water seeping in. The same is true at the feet of cliffs, in dry river beds, at the first depression behind the first sand dune of dry desert lakes, and in valleys/low areas

If lost in the wild, what should you do?

The first thing you should do if you're stranded in the wild is find a source of drinkable water. The most obvious sources are streams, rivers and lakes. Animals always know where the water is, so be on the lookout for wildlife or animal tracks. Lush green vegetation is also a sign that water is nearby.

If lost in the wild/woods and you have no methods to sanitize water, you can use dirt as a method. When water passes through soil, it is cleaned via physical, chemical and biological processes. In addition to soil's physical filtration capacity, soil contains important biota that helps transform and decompose certain chemicals and other contaminants from soil, thus helping filter them out of the water.

NOTE: Like with all other preparedness planning, water is the key essential resource to keep you alive. You should highly consider multiple water sources and methods to have available at all times. “One is none, two is one, three is better.”

That's all fellow Patriots, let us move along....
