Patriot Express Newsletter Edition #73

Fellow Patriots,

Welcome to the Patriot Express Newsletter (PENL) Edition #73. Thanks for stopping by to spend time checking out the newsletter. Your time is valuable to you and equally valuable to us. So thank you for your support and loyalty.

For the newcomers to the website, the foundation of Hope for Survival is my book, by the same title. If you would like to a copy of Hope for Survival How Food, Water, Shelter, and Security, Could Save Your Life, at this link. All proceeds from book sales goes to charity to support a local foodbank in our region. Thank you to everyone who purchased books. All books purchased are shipped within 24 hours.

The basic platform for HFS is this:

Hope for Survival Mission – To help individuals and families get prepared.

Hope for Survival Goal – Help people as possible become self-reliant.

The book is a basic framework to get you started in Preparedness, but you should continue to build upon the basic-foundation and processes. The theme, Hope for Survival, is built around the book, with the PENL, the HFS website containing over 390 articles and folders set up for specific topics, online and in-resident training, and Zoom rallies conducted each Thursday evening. If you take advantage of all the information and platforms you should find ample information to build your preparedness package.

My desire is to help the individual, the family and team, and the community. Why? Who covers your back while you sleep? Who protects you while you work in your garden or tend to livestock or work on your ham radio antenna? Do you plan to sleep with one eye open? How many tasks on your list requires two or more people? Who stands in your place if you become ill?

I want to welcome the new readers to the HFS family and our ongoing mission to be prepared and self-reliant. Help us build the HFS following by recommending or bringing a family member or friend to our effort of preparedness and self-reliance.

Hope for Survival Podcast – One of the areas HFS provides training opportunities is through the HFS YouTube channel. We currently have about 25 short training type Podcast on the Hope for Survival YouTube channel covering numerous topics of interest to help in your preparedness planning. Consider bringing a friend or family member and check it out. If you like what you viewed, hit “like” and consider subscribing so you are notified when I post something new. The number of subscribers and likes helps me determine trends and where folks spend time. The purpose of the YouTube videos is to get information to you, the preparer.

Thursday Zoom Rallies – HFS continues the Thursday HFS Zoom Virtual rallies weekly. We completed week 21 with a great Zoom meeting which was supported by many. This week Mountain Momma briefed the topic of “sprouts” and the growing process. HFS also presented a video of Bob Griswold from Ready Made Resources discussing the importance of Communication and Night Vision Equipment. We also covered news from the week, some preparedness topics and answered questions on the topics. Once the short briefs are completed, we have our weekly “Chatter that Matters” session with the attendees.

This coming Thursday in the HFS Week #22 Zoom rally will include a class on the importance of building an intelligence process and what it should include when conducting your Risk Analysis process that supports your preparedness plans. What information should you gather to include? Things you should consider including in your planning from an intelligence perspective? This class will be roughly 90 minutes.

I will be conducting a virtual Zoom class on Preparedness 101 on Saturday, Sept 12, 2020 at 10 AM EST. The cost to attend this training is $25 for the three hour class. If you would like to attend go to the donate tab on the website and in the comment section enter Prep 101. I will receive your information and email you the Zoom link and UN to enter the room. This is a great course for beginners, family and friends who are just starting in to preparedness.

If you have interest in attending a Thursday evening “Hope for Survival” Zoom virtual training event please email me at to get on the distribution list for attendance information. This is a great group and platform to learn and build friendships. The virtual conference room access information will not be posted in open on the website for OPSEC reasons.

Moving along …

We must make this brief public announcement to protect the innocent.

Ding, Ding, Ding...."Attention HFS readers..... Opinions shared in this newsletter are just that, opinions, and nothing more. Read at your own risk. The owner and author of this site are not responsible for hurt feelings or thin-skinned readers. I do my best to show restraint and respect to the best extent possible. I take as many precautions as possible and try to remain as nonpolitical as possible, however, there are times when I just can't help but point certain things out. Sometimes we must pull up our spenders and suck it up. Just saying. Stay the course, read what you want, and avoid the rest. Avoid fear porn as much as possible and the day will be okay.) When all else fails… Keep the faith and always have Hope."

Thoughts for the week

The start of my week included a drive to the Tennessee Plateau to break bread with Festus and a few other Patriot brothers and sisters. I was on my way across Tennessee over to Huntsville, AL to rally up with Ms. Lucy. It was a great visit with great conversation on Ham Radio preparation, testing, and need. The discussion of time and access to study material surfaced. Here is the link I spoke about that is a good study video to get you started;

We also discussed the need for a team or developing a team and the importance of communicating with the local Sheriff for information and maintaining communication flow and two-way open lines of information.

It is always good to see Festus and the TN Mountain crew. Good laughs, good food, good Patriot bonding taking place. Time never seems long enough but the continued journey on to Alabama had to get moving.

Next …

Ms. Lucy and I had the blessed occasion to celebrate a wedding anniversary this week and we actually got to be in the same location. We both are fairly low key so an evening together over a nice dinner, some roses, and time shared was what we needed. The Covid-19 chaos has impacted our teleworking schedules and locations at different times of the week. It has required some adjustments and driving for both of us. Not what we really wanted but it is what it is and we must adjust and overcome. Ms. Lucy has been very supportive of my invested time and effort to HFS and I’m thankful for her support and understanding. Through all the crazy news and an ever changing world around us, we must never forget the foundation of who we are and our family each day.

I was having a discussion with Wilson this week and my squirrel buddy asked me a very interesting question; “are we as humans losing faith in our fellow man and society in general”? Have you had this same thought during the past six months? With all that we are witnessing in the streets of America, the willingness of humans to kill other humans without much of a thought, the hatred against certain groups of people, the despise and hate for our elected President and on and on. Why are we witnessing the demise and destruction of civilization? Wait. Are we?

Sure, we know and understand the one-sided media reporting of race related crimes. The media floods the screens and social media with about every abnormal death of a minority in America. BUT, they do not show the deaths of Caucasian who are murdered by minorities. Yes, we understand and see all of this taking place. Who is asking why? Why are local, state, and federal officials ignoring these facts? Why are media sources covering up the crimes?

My biggest question that remains unknown is…why are the people, all colors, ignoring the hate and escalating crime taking place daily. All we hear is words to blame who is responsible and minimal to no action from any figures in positions of authority.

I think the message in the video below is on target. It is like the wild dog that takes out the door on the leash and when it reaches the full distance it jerks the dog back under control. I'm not calling anyone a dog but using it as an example. At some point, the Patriots of America, which includes many veterans, will stand up. And when they do, it will be ugly for the anti-American individuals. Not a threat. Just a simple fact. Stay tuned.

This is about as plain as it can be stated.

One of our Patriot Sisters sent this excellent video to me for review and informational purposes. It is a great informational video one should watch and consider sharing with family members. Since the collapse of the Berlin Wall and the Soviet Union many citizens wrote off the need for continued education and civil training for our citizens. The geographical change from regional nuclear threats to 9-11 and terrorism left the topic of nuclear weapons behind. The threat hasn’t changed, the media coverage did. Fact is, nuclear weapons can be smaller today because the targeting capability has improved greatly.

Just like many other areas in preparedness, be smart, be alert, and be prepared. Have a plan and train your family on the plan.

HFS had the honor of hosting an American Missionary Team from South Africa to the Thursday evening Zoom Rally last week, Aug 27, 2020. It was great evening shared with fellow HFS supporters. With all the negative news around us it was nice to have an evening of uplifting and positive messages.

One of the topics covered was the effort to put water wells in to locations where the locals have to walk five or more miles one way to secure water and carry it back to the villages. Here is a video from one family in Zimbabwe where efforts are in place to raise the money needed to drill water wells. Our guest missionaries are working with this family/village and working to get support to drill for water in this community.

If you have followed HFS from inception you will be familiar with the fact Ms. Lucy and I are very big on helping others. Giving back to our community and others is an important part of who we are. HFS will decide soon if we want to do a water well sponsorship. Imagine walking 1.5 miles each way, several times per day, to fetch and carry water for survival. Oh, for an entire community, the animals, and the garden, which you must have for survival.

I have given thought to possibly sponsoring one well per year under the Hope for Survival title. That would be an appropriate theme wouldn't it? Preparedness. Water is essential. The average cost to drill and put in one well is $3,000. I think it is worth giving the effort.

We are blessed people from a blessed nation and having the ability and resources to help others who are less unfortunate is always on my mind. In preparedness we talk about the "what ifs" and what we would do. Imagine living daily without the convenience of having access to water.

It saddens me when I look around our great nation and so much hate and fighting takes place 24 x 7. Friends killing friends. Families dividing over social media post. Racial tensions and cultural clashes. Yet, one commonality is most of these people own cell phones, cars, own or rent an apartment or home, clothes, shoes, and food. They do not realize how blessed they are and yet they are filled with so much anger and hate. Having traveled to many 3rd world countries and spent time with the people, I can tell you how the people live on minimal provisions, suffer from disease, hunger, tainted water, and crime, and they will smile and tell you how blessed they are. They are truly surviving and here in our great nation we are self-destructing. Think about that.

During our Thursday night Zoom rally #21, we discussed a new device that advertises as offering the ability to block 5G signals. Why would we want to do this when it gives is a faster internet signal and download capability for our cell phones and home computers connected to the internet. Many in the preparedness world are tracking and familiar with the battles taking place from state to state to block or stop the 5G effort due to health concerns. Specifically the claim the signal causes cancer. This is not new and has been on the radar for five years or more.

The device in discussion, pictured below, claims to block the signal sort of like a faraday device. You wear it on a string or chain around your neck like a necklace. I can't claim one way or the other to the device working or not. Two of our Patriot supporters provided the below information to support or negate the capability.

This topic will require further research and time. I'm not a medical expert and never played Marcus Welby, M.D. on television. I do think we would benefit from gaining more information on this topic in the very near short term.

Here is a link to a very interesting article provided by a Huntsville, AL Patriot on what appears to have been a test of the 5G system at possible full capacity and its impact on weather. Read the article and then review the weather radar screen shots of the radar picking up the 5G signal.

Have you heard the phrase "words matter?" Or, "it would never happen to me?" Check out the video below of the pregnant Australian lady arrested for a Facebook post made. Now don't run and check your FB to see if you have posted something unkind. Folks it wasn't long ago that Australia was much like the United States. They agreed to disarm as a society and look at them now. Think Freedom is free? Think again. Tick tock; tick tock.

Lets move along and get to the news...

Preparedness News

1. From J.D. – Survival Blog - - Great article and information. Some may find the information an addition to their existing thoughts and others who still believe ANTIFA/BLM to be unorganized and wearing training diapers. The author gives some good “On the Ground” (OTG) data that is worthy of filing away for possible future use or updates. Never underestimate your potential enemy. They may ride 4-wheelers or tri-cycles to the rally, but do not underestimate their capabilities.

2. From Ken Jorgustin – Modern Survival Blog - - This is great news considering many reported the pepper crop being down the past few years.

3. From Preppers Survive - - A few HFS followers recently asked for additional checklist for preparedness. Here is a great site for a large printable PFD checklist to add to your collection.

4. From Samantha Biggers – Backdoor Survival - - Ms. Biggers, offers some good information on preparing coffee and tea for your kit. Coffee and/or tea is a great start to the day or ending to an evening.

5. From Linda Loosli – Food Storage Moms - - Here is another good recipe to add to your hard back collection.

Other News

1. From Mark Petrakis – Off-Guardian - - This is one amazingly long read. A real head hurt. But, I would suggest anyone trying to get a better psychological understanding of what is going on in America, read this. Read many of the comments as well. Very interesting from a psychological perspective. Who is manipulating who? Is the box square or is it a square box? How do you know what to believe and when to believe it? Like I have shared in training and Zoom rallies, the single thing you know to be certain is your plans and how well you have or have not prepared. You control this.

2. From James Stansbury – American Thinker - - There are those who stand in line to buy their bread according to a process to only be told they are sold out when reaching the front. Or, you can not waste your time and go straight to the source to get your bread. Just a thought.

3. From John Whitehead – The Rutherford Institute - - Instill fear and the majority looks to the protector, overly willing to give up something to restore comfort. Each step along the way depletes freedoms of the people to instill the perceived protection.

4. From Wolf Richter – Wolf Street - - The common theme continues. What is real? Or not? Play a little game with yourself. Put $100 in your pocket and go to the grocery store. But what you think you can get for the $100. Don’t cheat and add it up pre-check out. Maybe use a week worth of food for your family as the target list. Bet your $100 will hardly pay for maybe less than half the items. Prices up. Stock of goods becoming questionable and resources to pack and can the products is running out globally.

5. From James Rickards – Daily Reckoning - – If this wasn’t such a scary thought it would be funny. It is a possibility no matter how slim of a chance it may seem to everyone.

Drum roll...........

That's all my Patriot brothers and sisters. Stay alert and strong.
