Greetings and welcome to the PENL Edition #108. Thanks for stopping by to spend some of your time with us at HFS.
As we move through May, things at HFS remains busy. Ms. Lucy has been busy editing the new book and trying to figure out what language I write. I tell her it's 1960s West Virginian through and through. That won't work because she passed through the same school system with me. Now that the book is finished, HFS focuses on weekly products such as Zoom and the weekly newsletter along with preparations for Heritage Life Skills coming up later this month. This is a great time of year as spring is in full swing. The fruit trees are currently loaded with peaches and pears while the heavy rains pass through East TN. No matter what is on your plate, I hope you can take time to look around and appreciate all the blessings before us. The world is troubled indeed. We must be part of the solution and not part of the problem.
Hope for Survival - The Mindset is book two in the HFS series and it will be released on/around May 15, 2021. You can pre-order the book through this website now. I will also have the book available during Heritage Life Skills in Waynesville, NC, May 20-23, 2021. I would like to thank Ms. Lucy for her time and effort to help me move this project along. I also want to thank Festus, Ms. G and Sir B, Ms. J and Mr. B, and Patriot T.M. for her art work on the cover. Your time and effort means more than words can express.
Thursday Zoom Rallies – We had Zoom Rally #53 Thursday night discussing preparedness related topics like gardening, building preparedness groups and leadership to name a few. I am really proud of this group for sticking with it weekly. This week we discussed tyranny, food tracing systems, the monthly threat matrix and a key weapon of an adversary. A favorite feature of mine is the "chatter that matters" segment of the evening where all attendees can discuss any and all preparedness topics on their mind.
Heritage Life Skills will be held May 21-23, 2021 and registration started March 1, 2021. Ding, Ding, Ding....Attention HFS readers..... Opinions shared in this newsletter are just that, opinions, and nothing more. Read at your own risk. The owner and author of this site is not responsible for hurt feelings or thin-skinned readers. I do my best to show restraint and respect to the best extent possible. I take as many precautions as possible and try to remain as nonpolitical as possible, however, there are times when I just can't help but point certain things out. Occasionally I use words only Patriots recognize and understand. It's not personal against any non-Patriot. It's just the truth. Sometimes we must pull up our spenders and suck it up. Just saying. Stay the course, read what you want, and avoid the rest. Avoid fear porn as much as possible and the day will be okay. When all else fails… Keep the faith and always have Hope.
Let’s move along and get to some thoughts...
Thoughts for the week –
Isn't it fair to say we are honorable and decent citizens of our great nation? Patriots, tax paying law abiding citizens, right? Aren't we great community servants to those around us? Many help their neighbors and community programs to feed those in need or repair homes in the spring for our senior citizens. This would be us, right? We strive to better the life of others the best we can do. It makes our community better and we feel uplifted by helping others.
If the nation continues on her current path and we start to see shortages such as fuel, food, lumber and other key resources needed, how will these same community citizens respond? Will everyone stand on the court house steps and sing "We are Family" and hold hands in joy? It is highly unlikely. Let me explain.
Always keep this fact in the back of your mind. It is not a scare tactic or written to scare you. It is a reality. One of the greatest tools or weapons to use against people is starvation. It has been used throughout history and will be used again if needed. As Sun Tzu said, "one of the best ways to get submission from your adversary is to circle them and cut off all means of obtaining resources." Food. You can have all the guns, ammo, and other resources in the world. But, if you do not have sufficient amounts of food, you will not survive. You can't eat air.
HFS has focused on the importance of the Five Mile Radius and knowing the people around you within your five mile range. You need to know your neighbor. Do you have the same ideology or do you differ politically? This is important. Do you know and have you bonded with like minded individuals? These are important questions to consider. If you live in a blue state with non-Patriot ideology leadership, the chances of future resources being provided to your community diminishes or becomes unlikely. That means; you will be on your own for a period of time. This could be short or long term. You must have the food and seeds needed to sustain your family.
If you have people around you who aren't prepared for any period of time, they will likely become a threat to you. Historically, starvation brings out the worst in people. Starving children will cause parents to take grave steps to obtain food. This could mean attacking you to take what you have. This is where the team concept is so important. You must be able to protect your resources 24 X 7. Is this capability built in to your plans?
Another method used to gain submission of your ideology is your adversarial leadership will offer extra quantities of food to anyone who will turn you in to authorities. This could be people of any ideology. That's right. Those who are not prepared and now starving will take extreme measures to obtain food. Turning you in is a simple step they can take to get food. This is why OPSEC and keeping your plans and information about your resources close hold.
Only you can control your ability to survive for the unknown ahead. Manmade or natural disasters can strike at anytime. These events are not predictable nor are your neighbors. Think about it.

Even today in the year 2021 we still hear an enormous anti-2A information campaign taking place in America and around the world. It is ongoing and grows year by year. It is a one sided campaign with little logic or understanding of what the Second Amendment is about. Gun's kill.... No, stupid people with guns kill. There is never a logical debate to hear both sides of the equation. If you debate the issue or have anti-2A family and friends, share this video with them. This is an excellent conversation piece.

Recently I was thinking about the changes to our society and culture in my lifetime. In reality, I am amazed to how quickly things changed and continue to change daily. Now, I am a tad older and I looked back to when I remembered first learning about politics. I was a left leaner then as was the home I grew up in. STOP!!! Don't throw rocks.
I remember back to the Carter Administration and he made the Panama Canal deal. Politically, he was bashed by opposing political voices. One of the things that stands out to me culturally was when his brother Billy started a company that produced Billy beer. Oh, how this was such a bad thing. The President's redneck brother was now producing beer. President Carter was bashed and politically beaten for the actions of his brother. I also remember the period when fuel rations limited a family to $5 per week. I also remember Carter for the American hostage ordeal in Iran.
I flashed through the years remembering living life in the Reagan Revolution and the build up of the U.S. military. iI joined the military during this period. An eye for an eye practice brought us several military conflicts to remove communist dictators and leaders sponsoring terrorism. Grenada, Panama, and Libya comes to mind. For me, I started noticing more Americans wearing a leather necklace with the South African flag dangling from it supporting the end to apartheid. I do not remember any urgency at the southern border of the US during this period.
Then came the Bush Sr years and the 1,000 points of light, the light on the hill, and a one world government moments. The Gulf war was a big moment is this administration and then the downsizing of the US military. I remember clearly the day the Berlin wall came down and US missile defenses went off alert. The nail in the coffin for this President was when he stated "no new taxes" then went on to raise taxes. I do not remember any news covering issues of the southern border during this period either.
A new young governor came along named Clinton and his wife Hillary, to take the nation by storm. The Clinton moment that stands out to me is his "I didn't have sex with that woman" moment. Not widely publicized is the fact his policies also locked up more black males than any administration to date. Much of our culture reverted to the late 1960s and the sex and pot revolution. This was the era of everyone gets a trophy. Don't keep score of the youth baseball game because we have no losers. How has this worked out for us? This is the first administration where I remember issues at the southern border beginning.
Then we lived through the GW Bush era of Sept 11, 2001 and the start of wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. The start of the Patriot Act where both political parties promoted this document to better protect America. We lived through the economic crash of 2008 which nearly bankrupted the nation and started the QE era of government subsidies and the plunge team making deposits of hundreds of million dollars to keep the economy afloat.
Then came a guy who was an amazing speaker who few had heard of previously. Senator Barack Obama and his message of transforming America. Oh, how much of the culture jumped on this movement that continued the transformation of ideology for many. We repeatedly heard "we will take from the haves and give to the have nots." We also lived through the multi-trillion dollar government spending on "the not so ready shovel ready jobs." We also witnessed a great transformation towards the he is she, she is it, and the many who didn't give a she-it because they had witnessed enough of the transformation. We also witnessed the "beer summit" and the start of increased attacks on our police officers. I digress.
Then came a non-politician businessman who sung the song of the Patriots. We heard America first in all that we do being sung by half the country. Many of my previous statements got erased and attention was paid to minorities, the military, ending wars, rebuilding America and the economy. Jobs, jobs, and more jobs. As the nation rebuilt, the riots started before Covid-19 arrived. The nation came to a rapid halt except for the hate of President Trump and the continued rioting. While American cities burned, many citizens remained locked down in their homes. This administrations term ended at one term and we now live with the results. We are now back to the anti-Patriot movement where the non-Patriots hate what we stand for and wish to wipe us off the map.
So in roughly 40 years, as a cultural we have moved from days of Billy beer to the American flag being burned in the streets. Our government can't decide who should use which bathroom. Family business owners close the doors daily while non-working Americans receive more money to stay home than get a job. We have a system that says parents should not name the sex of their child until the child is old enough to state their desire. It is okay for males who desire to be a female today use the restrooms of females. It is legal in some states for boys to compete on girls athletic teams and use the same showers. Children are being picked off the streets and put in the hands of pedophiles around the world. Elected leaders believe wearing two mask will protect you better than one. Really? Debt is out of control and our school systems no longer teach the basics in science, math, and history. The system of immorality and dumbing down our youth continues while many are asleep at the wheel. Over the forty plus years here I remember some of the same political commercials saying the same things. Like, they will push grandma over the cliff. They will end social security. They will pad the wallets of the rich. The one thing no one brings up is how many years in the 40 years we had majority leadership for both political parties, Democrats and Republicans, and nothing changed. Neither party could fix the health care system with the American people in mind. We still have endless wars, health care issues and rising cost, and more civil division today than before the 1960s,. Step back and cast your political ideology aside. Ask yourself, what has our government done for the people since 1980? Wars. Debt. Political anti-Americanism, class warfare and civil strife and on and on. Laws, policies and leadership now supports the immoral and illegal actions of many over the rights and protection of law abiding tax payers.
We have gone from protesting Billy Beer to the hate of a class of citizens in our great nation. Do you honestly believe the answer is in Washington D.C.? To fix this problem we must start in our home, our community and state. The road ahead appears broken and unpaved. We have a choice. We can let it continue or step out and be a voice for change. Hope and faith will always be our answer and defeat is not an acceptable result.

It will most likely be unknown how long we must plan to stay locked in, if at all. Location at the time of the event will determine much of that. More likely urban citizens will face it before rural for longer periods. How will you know how long to plan for? You most likely won't. Remember, one is none, two is one, three is better.

Prayers - Please keep our great nation, our elected leaders, military and first responders in your thoughts and prayers. We pray for good health and wisdom. Please pray for our leadership to find answers and guidance to the problems facing our great nation. Please pray for the former President and his family. May your faith remain strong and answers to the unknown provided. God is good and may our prayers blanket and protect you and your circumstances. I pray for each, and every one of our Patriots.
Please pray for our Patriot sister in the Asheville area who has been sick for over two months. Pray you gain strength, get your health back soon. Prayers for strength and good health for your husband as well.
Please pray for our Sister Patriot in Huntsville, AL who took a fall in January and is still going through numerous medical procedures and test to get to a point of recovering.
We need a lot of prayer warriors to uplift a Patriot sister and her family while they deal with negative health news with a child. We need lots of prayer to uplift this family often.
Please pray for a Patriot sister and brother in SC while they deal with family issues regarding a child and grandchild. Pray for strength and wisdom as they adjust to current events.
Please pray for wisdom, energy, and efforts as the Carolina Readiness crew puts the final touches on the upcoming Heritage Life Skills event. May we pray for all the blessings and things in life to be thankful about and continued hope for revival around the world. We must continually pray for the unsaved, our family and friends who live each day without the protection for eternal life and salvation.
Our prayers are needed for medical answers to an ongoing unidentified health issue with a Patriot brother in NC so he can proceed forward with solutions to get 100% healthy again. Prayers to him and his wife on their journey.
As Patriots we must stay strong and never give up. Our home, community and nation needs us now more than ever. The global stage for WW III is being set before our eyes. Our nation suffers in many areas. The hole will only get deeper. The headwinds are strong against us but we must keep charging. Have a safe week. Don't allow the events around us to create fear in your life. Build your own self-reliance and focus on hope. Remember we are a blessed nation and we must continue to be great people today and make a better tomorrow. Keep charging."
