Patriot Express Newsletter Edition #80

Fellow Patriots,

Welcome to the Patriot Express Newsletter (PENL) Edition #80. Wow. Can you believe it? Eighty straight Saturdays. Rain or shine. Donuts, bagels, eggs, and bacon. The PENL has arrived on time without fail. I suppose it is crazier to me than you because you don't always know everything taking place on my end that sometimes creates obstacles to make this happen on time for 80 weeks. Its a funny kind of insanity. Regardless, I appreciate you stopping by to spend a few minutes to check out the weekly version of the PENL. One thing I have learned in the past 80 weeks is one can't always make the masses happy and squirrels make good friends.

Last week I posted the PENL from East TN on my way down to Atlanta and on over to Huntsville. Sooo, why be normal. This week I will be headed back over to GA with stops in Calhoun and Adairsville and then back to Huntsville and then on over to East TN for a few days. I'm starting to feel like a Georgia resident. Not such a bad thing.

If you are a guest or newcomer to the HFS journey, please check out this link for additional information offered through HFS. I have removed the weekly newcomer information and guest guide and the link takes you to an article I just posted for all this information to welcome and help you take advantage of all the HFS information and material provided. I have added this feature to allow PENL regular readers less text to wade through weekly and it shortens the overall PENL product several pages of text.

Thursday Zoom Rallies – HFS continues the Thursday HFS Zoom Virtual rallies weekly. We completed week 28 with a great Zoom meeting. In order to catch the Presidential Debate at 9 PM EST, we focused entirely on completing the group project of completing the Preparedness Top 10 Items checklists. This has been productive but a lot of fun working together as a group to identify resources and needs for the checklist items. A big thanks to the group for taking part in this project.

If you have interest in attending a Thursday evening “Hope for Survival” Zoom virtual rally event please email me at to get on the distribution list for attendance information. This is a great group and platform to learn and build friendships. The virtual conference room access information will not be posted in open on the website for OPSEC reasons.

Special Guest - Steven Bird - Former Naval Aviator, current pilot, author and Homesteader will appear as special guest on Zoom Rally # 29, October 29th, 2020 starting at 705 PM EST. Steven will answer a series of question, interview style, on homesteading, projects, family, and where he sees the nation headed. We are happy to have Steven join us. Stop by and check it out.

Special Training Event - Hope for Survival will be on the road providing on site preparedness training October 25, 2020 in Calhoun, Georgia. The training starts at 8 am through 5 pm. Lunch will be provided on site. The training will consist of Risk Analysis and Management, Family Communication Planning, Preparedness 101 (self) and 102.(team). This training is indoors. If you are interested and would like to attend this training please send me an email and I will connect you with the host of this event. If you would like to attend the training via SKYPE virtually I need to know ASAP. Send me an email to and state your wishes to attend and I will get you on the list.

Moving along …

We must make this brief public announcement to protect the innocent.

Ding, Ding, Ding...."Attention HFS readers..... Opinions shared in this newsletter are just that, opinions, and nothing more. Read at your own risk. The owner and author of this site are not responsible for hurt feelings or thin-skinned readers. I do my best to show restraint and respect to the best extent possible. I take as many precautions as possible and try to remain as nonpolitical as possible, however, there are times when I just can't help but point certain things out. Sometimes we must pull up our spenders and suck it up. Just saying. Stay the course, read what you want, and avoid the rest. Avoid fear porn as much as possible and the day will be okay.) When all else fails… Keep the faith and always have Hope."

Let’s move along and get to some thoughts...

Thoughts for the week

As we close in on the moment many of us have been planning and watching, I would encourage you to focus on your plans and ensuring they are ready. Make any adjustments, as needed, to events that could take place in your vicinity. Things may have changed since your last review and walk through of the plan. Any changes to roads or bridges? Are your batteries in good shape or have they been in boxes or equipment for months? How about your team members. Are they all still available or has one or two moved away? Are you planning to bug out? Are the routes to your bug out location still the same? Any detours or route changes? Are your family members still in the same health as when you built your plans? How about children and pets? Did you plan for them as well? Has your town or city leadership changed from conservative to liberal where an incident may not go in your favor if presented to a court of law? Do you still have a set amount of cash available or did you maybe spend some of it along the past months? Do you need to secure some plywood panels to block your windows from thrown projectiles if needed? Have you considered removing yard signs from your yard, if applicable, showing your support to either political party? What have you done to blend in and not make your home a target? If you park in the driveway, do you have political stickers visible from the street? If so and you haven't removed them, park with your bumper to towards the house out of view from the street. Have you conducted mental drills in your head to the "what if" scenarios? What if you walk from a store in to a riot. What is your plan? What if you are on an interstate and it becomes blocked and the riots go car to car looking for political decals or reasons to target you? Do you blend in or are you a soft target? You get the point?

Harden your target if you haven't already. Don't set yourself up. Remember, think outside the box and be left of bang. Don't make yourself an easy identifiable target to any potential threats. Always know your potential threats and enemies to the best of your ability. Don't have fear but be on alert always. YOU want to control the information and circumstances involving you and your loved ones. Know when and how to pull the plug and adjust your circumstances as needed. Remember, 90% of preparedness is awareness.

NEWS ALERT: The 2020 Presidential election is around the corner and the craziness is getting faster and bigger. Did you know that? The voices of chaos and confusion grows and they echo the same message. The Democrats plan to disrupt and create mass disruption starting around November 3rd. What is the truth? Who knows. But what I do know is my focus on staying outside the box and being left of bank is in the cross hairs of my focus. That's right. Sure I care what happens. But I always ask myself what is my personal response to each possible action by the adversary. Complete self-reliance, as well as adapt, adjust, and overcome in the proactive role. Catch that? In the proactive role. This means staying outside the threat box and focused on your priorities vs the events happening daily. This is important.
